NEUTRAL LIES is a synth based duo whose protagonists are Jean François Dean and Nicolas Delbarre. Jeff and Nick used to throw pellets at the same teachers in the 80’s and have always been as thick as thieves since... NEUTRAL LIES is not a mere musical alliance but mainly the story of two brains that appear to be on the same wavelength. Some might say they’re dodgy 80’s throwbacks but the lads have always kept an eye out for the so called future.Jeff and Nick have had a bit of a hectic background and are strongly tied to their Franco British roots.The North South divide being well illustrated with a path that lead them from Basildon ,England to Lumio,Corsica with a semi permanent stop over in Lille,Northern France. Jeff and Nick both played with different bands in the past two decades and already played together in the 90’s with a group called Process On. They are electronic buffs and they fancy any good synth tune provided there is a unifying thread.That is why they consider it a useless venture to sort of label their musical style,first cos they don’t want music to be a price tag you stick on someone a bit like during the sales period and second,because their tracks are an odd blend of minimal electronics,synth pop,EBM,New Wave and more. Another priority is to avoid the nerdy analogue dialogue,yes we do use analogue machines and we love it but we also use Midi and current technologies as we are not a bunch of electro strap-on wankers who get a hard on as soon as they are groping a Moog Keyboard or a TR808 and we are not part of these people who think you can only produce good synth materials with vintage instruments. What really matters to us is the tunes,the words and the feelings music can convey. Please note that the 4 tracks we have posted online are premix versions so be rather lenient with the sound quality of the 4 songs above. NEUTRAL LIES have just signed a deal with French electro pop label BOREDOMproduct for the release of their debut album "A deceptive calm" which is due to come out by mid 2010.Keep an eye out for more regular info.
