Neutra is a 4-piece band founded by guitarist Nick Jenkins and vocalist Nick Wincenc. They recruited bassist Will Bennett and drummer Dan Kolpin and began having rehearsals over the summer of 2008. Neutra blends many types of genres into their music because of the member's diverse tastes. Creating a distinct and unique sound that incorporates alternative rock and psychedelia with punk, metal, and experimental they hope to entrance you in a sea of musical wonder and euphoria. .

"Though i don't find myself listening to progressive guitar rock very often, "Lost", a song by the Manhattan quartet Neutra combines the ambience of "progressive bands" from the ages (see; Pink Floyd, Tortoise) through a tough, grooving rhythm section with guitar work equally influenced by Led Zeppelin, Built to Spill, and Dinosaur Jr. The song cleverly manages to sidestep genre to slowly build from a quiet bass-led, punctuated by intermittent louder parts into a classic rock-ish solo into a chorus of the band singing over incredibly hook-filled guitar. I was supposed to see them at the Irving Plaza show but I had a History final the next day and I had to review for a Bio final. I was so fucking bummed I had to miss out on that. They are easily one of my favorite bands right now.
