Kristy Brady (Arc Angel) likes the softer and more soulful or meaningful kinds of rock and country. Her Sound is sweet yet Powerful. She can soothe you with a melodic ballad, or keep you enthralled with an epic pitch. Her influences include Pat Benatar (Pat Benatar), Amy Lee (Evanessence), and Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil).
A.J Bell (Gargoyle) enjoys the pitch scream stylings of various metal artists. He has incredible power and a very piercing scream. His passionate voice will leave you burning inside-out. His main influences are David Draiman (Disturbed), Phil Anselmo (Pantera), and Chad Grey (Mudvayne).
Daren Johnson plays a wide range of styles from classical, to grunge, to new age. He tends to favor a more alternative rock. Daren is rock solid with his rhythms and innovative in his riff patterns. His major influences are Dimebag Darrel (Pantera), Fredrik Thordendal (Meshuggah), and Dino Cazares (Fear Factory).
Joe Taylor plays the most modern of metals. From Swedish to Thrash, Joe can play it all. His talent is in his uniqueness of writing styles. He can take an influence and turn it into his own style. Joe can shred like no other! Joe, too, has many influences, but his main ones are Muhammed Suicmez (Necrophagist), Kyle McKnight (Threat Signal), and Jesper Stromblad (In Flames).
Sebastian Smith (Seb) plays whatever involves fast double kick. His style ranges from Jazz and Funk, to any form of metal. His forte is in the heaviest of heavy, and the most modern of metal. His main influences are Chris Addler (Lamb of God), Travis Smith (Trivium), and Chris Suitt (Separation of Self).
Walter Brady IV (Kalamity) comes from an older form of rock background. He takes much after his father (Walter Brady III), former bassist to Deaf Child, in his form of bass. His lines are punchy and complimentary to the leads on the guitar. But he has no problems with throwing in a scale or two. His major influences include Steve Harris (Iron Maiden), Rex Brown (Pantera), and Tim Commerford (Rage Against the Machine).
Never Before combines generations of metal and rock into a cohesive, melodic, musical experience. The band is made up of six members, each with their own, distinct style. The group consists of two vocalists, one producing more soulful notes, the other, heavy scream overs. Two guitarists, a bassist, and a drummer make up the rest of the group. Never Before produces their material differently than most bands. The singers wait until the instrumental version of the song is completed, and then the lyrics are written according to how the song feels to them. This is relevant in assuring that their songs do not sound alike, making their music appealing to different audiences.
Their influences include Killswitch Engage, Threat Signal, David Draiman (Disturbed), Cristina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil), along with numerous other artists. Every member of the band was born and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah. Their performances reveal a steady and strong support base, not only in numbers, but in consistency as well. They currently have a ten-track album out, featuring a cover of "End of Heartache" by Killswitch Engage, that was recorded throughout the year of 2008.
Though the band has been together for a relatively short time, it is evident that each respected member contributes a significant element to the overall production. The most notable characteristic of the band that sets them apart from others is that each member comes from a completely different musical background. Each person has a different style of music that they favor. Performance is one of their strongest points, particularly because their motto is, "people come to see you. Play the song on the album, perform the song live." Every show promises to have an electrifying atmosphere that will be felt by most that attend.
