About me: ~ DJ PLAY ~
Born June 27th, 1979, this artistic lefty has found a great love for music and has started a career as a dj. He has known since a very young age that music is very powerful.
At age twenty, Derek started to spin record and mix beats and within six months he played his first gig at Herman's Hideaway. He was the first person to play "techno" there, also was the first person to play a "solo" dj act.
November 30th, 2002, Derek put on his first club event named Pimp the System. Along with himself on the decks were DJ Apothecary, DJ Liquidkid, and DJ Lightsource.
Derek has also played numerous house and warehouse parties.
In the years he has started to put together Nevercivil Productions, where he plans to put on many more club and bar events, weddings, and other social events. July 2008, Nevercivil Productions LLC was made "official."
Derek is a very goal oriented person and plans to put all the hassles and problems that have held him back in the past behind him and move forward.
In an attempt to fine tune and expand his play, He has completed a course with You Know Me Productions. Also has been fully trained on wedding/corp./private-parties as a "mobile" dj playing all genres of music.
Working along side with other promoters and djs in the scene, Dj Play, has brought you: Syk(Dec.6th,2008), Space(April 18th,2009)
Dj Play is in the process of coming to an event near you ~SO~ keeps your ears open and your feet moving to the beat he lays down. And see you there!!!
