Who are they??? We've summarised each of our winners in their respective categories to make it easy for you!
Emma-Louise - Emma-Louise is a 17 year old schools student from Cairns, Far North Queensland. She started playing guitar and writing songs when she was twelve and has a passionate ambition to be a musician...( rockstar!). Emma has just finished her second EP titled " Autumn Tongues".

Ashleigh Mannix - Hailing from a geographical and cultural mix that takes in both the ACT and NSW's South Coast, Ashleigh Mannix has recently emerged as a bright young singer/songwriter and natural solo performer, consistently embraced by fans, peers and audiences alike, both locally and overseas. Ashleigh picked up her first guitar at the age of 11, a few years later adding to this musical experience with her own voice. In the years that followed Ashleigh has molded her musical self and soul writing, travelling largely solo, and in particular with her dynamic live performances. She has created an expanding library of songs that channel her disarming honesty and a warm charisma that infects and leaves audiences all over converted.

Boston Shaker - Sydney band Boston Shaker is high energy rock n roll. Boston Shaker started when brothers RC (vocals/tatts/fashion) and Jimmy D (guitar/guitar faces/vocals) decided to combine their talents and work on some catchy energetic original songs. They called on long time friend and cocktail barmen extraordinaire Pablo J to play bass, and when they enlisted talented drummer Ange baby yeah (formerly with Skulker) an experienced line up was complete. Drawing on many influences Boston Shaker, doesn't sound like your usual rock band. A bit blues, a bit rockabilly, a little country, some pop thrown in for good measure and a whole lot of rocking out!

2008 NA2R Winners have been announced! Be sure to let us know what you think!
NA2R is the comp for unsigned, independent acts aching for commercial radio airplay, nationwide exposure and the chance to perform in front of radio programmers, music directors and music industry professionals.
This commercial radio industry initiative aims to discover the next big act to be played on commercial radio throughout the country and is now in its seventh year. The event is open to unsigned Australian artists aged between 15-30 years who have not yet charted in the top 100 Australian National airplay chart.
We’re stoked to announce that in 2008 we will again be awarding one winner across three distinct genres of Pop, Rock and Adult Contemporary.
The three winners will receive a share of airplay and advertising ($150,000 worth!) on radio stations across the east coast of Australia. The winners will perform live at the prestigious 2008 NA2R Showcase on the Gold Coast on Friday, 10 October in front of the who’s who of the Australian radio and music industries. In addition, the 2008 NA2R winners will receive a further benefit from MGM Distribution (MGM) in the manufacture and distribution of their winning track. MGM will provide digital release for each winner via Itunes and submit the single to ARIA for single chart survey. Winners will be selected from a pool of nine finalists (three from each genre). Entries are judged by the Program and Music Directors (big-wigs) of the radio networks involved.
Airplay includes stations that are a part of DMG Radio Australia, Austereo, Australian Radio Network and Macquarie Southern Cross Media. It’s always good to see such fierce rivals come together to support a good cause – in this case new Aussie music!
