Influences	Supporting the creation of independent films! We’re a non-profit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for filmmakers to screen their work, engaging new audiences in the appreciation of local independent film, and empowering the next generation of filmmakers.
Awards	The NFS incorporated as a nonprofit organization in December 2003 and convened a board of directors. In May 2004, the organization was granted 501(c)(3) tax-exempt status from the IRS.
