Newcastle Live Sound is a business founded by Richard Owen, also of Funk Network UK www.fnuk.com. Having provided professional live music services for over 5 years, the business is now re-focussed to bring together many skills and contacts to give you the services you need.
► Full live PA and sound engineering service. For bands, performers, shows and conferences. We can get it sounding right with the minimum of fuss. With experienced crew and our own high quality equipment (Allen & Heath, HK Audio, DBX, Shure, Beyer etc.) or we can source specific equipment at competitive rates.
► Live music booking for venues. Currently we provide quality cover bands for two venues in Newcastle on a regular basis, one of them since 2005.
► Event management and planning. We have extensive experience of organising and running live music events, from small gigs to all day multicultural events and outdoor festivals.

Live Sound is both an art and a science. Getting live music to sound good requires a balance of technical knowhow with understanding of music, interpersonal skills and the right attitude.
As a musician and music fan himself Richard understands what both the performers and the audience want from a performance. He has experience of working with music from many genres, including:

From up and coming bands in the North East to some of the region's most successful artists such as Maximo Park and The Baghdaddies, Richard has mixed live sound for them before. Richard has also provided live sound for some of the world's finest funk and soul bands when performing at Funk Network UK events in the North East.
The room or environment where live music is performed massively affects the sound and every room is different. Working with a loud band in a small room with poor acoustics can be one of the greatest challenges for an engineer. Richard has plenty of experience dealing successfully with just that kind of situation and has also worked in venues with a audiences of up to 2000 people.
