If a modern-day Pat Benatar sang with the Foo Fighters it might come close to the sound of New Day Dawn - powerful, sultry female vocals driving undeniably catchy, amped-up pop/rock tunes. Then again, their sound has its own unique elements which, while easy on the ear, somewhat defy specific comparisons. And this is just how the band’s lead songstress, Dawn Botti likes it.
New Day Dawn represents a new chapter for Dawn and her husband/ drummer Gary Szczecina. In the first half of the decade, their former project Slushpuppy seemed unstoppable- garnering multiple awards, a Jagermeister sponsorship and recurring play on K-Rock, the country’s largest hard-rock station. Slushpuppy’s sudden break-up left the couple a bit bruised, but wiser for the wear. With hands firmly gripped on the control wheel of this new project, the duo has come back strong and ready to stir things up.
And popular sentiment seems to agree. New Day Dawn has already been nominated for best Rock/ Alternative band by the Hoboken Music Awards in 2009. and their first full-length CD, “The Company We Keep” (released Jan. 2009) has received several glowing reviews. Hailed as “Straight-up thrilling and unpretentious rock” and a “damn fine album”, the duo’s hard rock roots “deliver the right amount of punch to the ears” and are paired perfectly with pop-saturated melodies. The band carries that balance into its lyrics as well. The songs explore some very dark themes, but the overall message is one of strength and perseverance. The CD also shows off Botti's vocal versatility too. She is just as comfortable crooning forlornly on the country-alt rock ballad “Daddy’s Song” as she is belting out with aggression and clarity on the modern rocker “Paralyzed”.
And unlike much of today’s female “rock” - which is nothing more than pop-princesses singing over distorted guitars - New Day Dawn is sophisticated in its music and its approach and is the ultimate testament to true “Grrrl” power. "The guys don't have individual agendas for this project and are truly letting me be in charge. That is both scary and exciting!” Botti leads the band, both on and off the stage and while she admits feeling trepidation at times, her take-no-prisoners attitude and powerful vocals betray no signs of such timidity and are a perfect match for groups amped-up accessible pop/rock songs. "I will never be a mellow singer. I'm a rock chick through and through. But a more mature, experienced rock chick now.” Botti's new attitude is likely attributable to the fact that she and Szczecina became parents in 2005 with the birth of their son, Walker. "Having a child changes everything," says Botti, "you see the world through new eyes. It’s all exciting and wondrous again and you can't help but feel constant love surrounding you, even during the tough times.”

There is currently a search for two types of bands for record label consideration.
*** Note: PLEASE IDENTIFY IF YOU ARE IN GROUP 1 OR 2 IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF YOUR RESPONSE. Emails are being reviewed by different representatives.
1. A Pop/Rock/Commercial band with female lead. Band must consist of 2 guitars (Prefer both guitar players to be of lead caliber. However, one lead and one rhythm is acceptable), keyboard/piano, bass, and drums. Lead vocal, followed by backing vocals, in that order, is a plus as it relates to other members of the group. Average age of the band cannot exceed 28 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
2. A Modern Rock band with male lead. Must be a complete band but there are no prerequisites as it relates to the make up of the band. Average age of the band cannot exceed 23 years of age.
* Group must have an outstanding lead vocalist. ** Musicianship throughout the entire band must be very strong. *** Group cannot currently be under any contract of any type that is related to the music industry.
