They met fortnightly over four months to watch films and discuss the pictures from different angles and came up with an amazing programme that was presented at the British Film Institute on the South bank during the 20th to 22nd June 2008

Nueva Generacion (NG) is a Latin American collective working cross-culturally to raise awareness of social issues, stimulating change and promoting our culture.

Using the arts as our tool, we are creating a model of participatory action learning, networking on a local and international level. We work closely with the Latin American, London-wide and international community through the arts, including music, drama, dance, video, capoeira, music and percussion, poetry and crafts. As an art-led group we welcome artists and individuals with an interest in socializing and sharing their skills.

We are based in London, SE11, and at the moment our weekly workshops include capoeira, dance, art, drumming, samba and circus.

REFUGE IN FILMS is a film festival dedicated to raising awareness about refugee and migrant issues.

The festival is entirely developed by a group of young people. By giving a voice to young refugees, the festival address issues of representation of refugees and migrants in the film industry and is a space of celebration that contribute to a more tolerant society.

Refuge in Films is calling for films produced between January 2006 and April 2009, on the subjects of Immigration, Refuge and Displacement. The call is open to national and international filmmakers from all backgrounds. The festival will run during Refugee Week 2009 on 19th to 21nd June in London at the British Film Institute, South Bank.

The deadline for film submission was the 30th April, 2009.

They took him because nothing destabilizes the intransigents more than a man in his most free state. At the Fifth Police Station, 3rd and 62nd in Playa, where the criminals take turns and a toilet is a painful illusion, Gorki rips the strings of his rebelliousness. He is a weird guy, everyone notices it, even more weird in a society where the model of the “New Man” is the coloring book version of the idiot in the classroom.

Gorki concentrates the attraction that his critics do not have; he sings, sways, and shouts in his bloody rock lyrics what others mutter with fear. He is accused of a crime from the script of the film “Minority Report,” charged under the euphemism of “pre-delinquent dangerousness.” Translated into the language of reality, it means they put you behind bars so you don’t commit the mischief that others see coming.

In the case of Gorki, the charge has been led by a delegate of the constituency with delusions of James Bond, a neighbor woman they “advised” to make the accusation, and by a community that avoids interceding for the “uncomfortable.” On Thursday he will have his preliminary hearing and only some clothes and toiletries brought by his father have managed to make it to him where they have him “guarded.” There is little chance of the defense lawyer convincing the strict prosecutor that Gorki’s long hair, his rock songs, and the noise of his guitar, are not more dangerous than the inertia, conformity and double standard in which everything is wrapped.

Hi there,here Jurgi Revolucion informing people about what we could do NEXT SUNDAY 13th to improve the health of London's conciousnes and rise our voice after Cuban Solidarity campaign presence has being removed from a well known anti-racist festival AT FINSBURY PARK.I have to tell you that we(a latin reggae band)did manage to get a spot in another stage(underground) in the Rise and that we are playing at 12 a.m. and going to give some of the money to the Cuban solidarity campaign .WE ALL ARE coordinating some flyering and spontaneous protest .I think the best thing to do is to have a small chaotic parade inside the park with acoustic instruments and banners and tell the people what kind of example has been CUBA for the entire human race(anti-racist,equalitarian-solidarian).Pass the word to people you know,tell them to bring instruments ,t-shirts ,banners,.... or to come dressed as CHE if you like.
