New Leaders Council is building the future of progressive leadership by providing young people with mentoring, networking and job placement programs in the fields of journalism, business, politics, and government. With a commitment to social responsibility and civil independence, New Leaders Council is focused on shaping the future by developing tomorrow's leaders today and molding tomorrow's political environment.

Mission
New Leaders Council strengthens the progressive movement by identifying and recruiting new progressive leaders. NLC provides these emerging leaders with training, mentoring, networking, and job placement opportunities that equip them to be civic leaders, not only for elective office, but also in their communities and workplaces. Recognizing that a truly progressive movement is inclusive and empowering, NLC makes a special effort to recruit people from outside the usual power structures. NLC is shaping America’s future by developing tomorrow’s leaders today.

Vision
New Leaders Council (NLC) envisions a world where American political leadership is spearheaded by progressives who, through their unique experiences, bring to bear a practical and deep understanding of how legislative policies, corporate practices, and government and non-governmental actions alike impact all people's lives. NLC believes that leadership in every sector of society should be representative of the population and that society benefits when each person has the opportunity to participate fully in his or her community and its governance. NLC is dedicated to a vision of equal opportunity, social responsibility, environmental stewardship, and full representation for all people.

We've now had 5 years of lies about Iraq: 9/11, WMD's, freedom. The real reasons were oil, profiteering, fascism. Not just Bush, but the news media, most of congress, and all who remain silent. And now they'll use fear to quash dissent. It's nothing new -- it's been going on for ages. War, poverty, ecocide, arrogant bullying --they're all from greed and fear, which come from ignorance. ♥ But it's not too late -- we can still learn to make peace. Talk with people. Love, Eric
