About me:
New Menu is a directory of Greens running for office. It is also a source for free web site, email, blog, online calendar, town hall, and guest book for any Green candidate. New Menu

New Menu comes from the idea that as citizens in a democracy, we should not be like people visiting a restaurant, coming in periodically and choosing from a list of options. We should should be in the kitchen, with our sleeves rolled up, coming up with new ideas that will benefit us collectively. We need to create a new menu of services we need from our government, not accept the choices our government is offering us.

Candidates who listed with the US Green Party as Greens, from local to national office, may have a free web site through this page. Included is an email address, a blog, and other features that will be added later. Green campaigns that already have a web site, may still be listed in our directory with a link to their official election site. Greens may choose from one or all three of our current offered services. Green candidates with little or no campaign budgets can still have their qualifications, issues, and contact information available online.

We just added new features. There is a visitor counter for each candidate and an optional guest book. This is in addition to the customizable banner links that we recently began offering. You can also request your own FTP account and folder to have your own customized web page. Free templates are available from the Green Party.

Mass communication should be the masses broadcasting the message, not receiving it. This is especially true in politics. A New Menu is run by Greens for Greens.

THE GRASSHOPPER AND THE ANT. Aesop's Fables. My Version. "So there was this grasshopper, spent all summer playin' his fiddle hot down by the river, drinking beer, playing volleyball, and entertaining various young women on vacation from out of town. Near the spot he got on and off the bus each day on his trips to the river--he'd rather drink than drive--he'd often run into an ant about his own age, always busy stocking his house with food. Grasshopper had pretty much given up on talking the hard-working ant into taking a day off and going to the river with him. Ant had always told him that ha-ha, winter was a-comin' and HE by golly wasn't going to be hungry when the snow was blowin'. All summer, the ant worked while the grasshopper played. Then winter came, and they both froze to death."
.............
Thanks and apologies to Mr. Aesop.

Did you know that 65,000 U.S. citizens die every year from air pollution, that 178 of our fellow citizens every day. And our state legislators just give some of our state's largest polluters a corporate welfare package of 35 million dollars.

Did you know that the war in Iraq cost 14 million dollars an hour, 24 hours a day, and this is not counting the cost for continued medical care and other services our people will need when they come back.

Debate facts:

location or copy of actual document for:

1. 6500 people die from air pollution, E.P.A.
2. 90% of people in Iraq dieing are average people living their lives.
3. 300,000 of our fellow citizen die each year from preventable causes.

i am seeking nomination from the Green party of Arkansas, to be a Green running for state rep. district 50.

can you point me toward good resources for:

Here in Arkansas we have one of the worst tenant rights laws in the country. Like three day evictions. One can be evicted for any reason On our state A.G. site, our Attorney General went out of his way to underline the any reason part of that sentence. And
Arkansas is a right to work state. What state has the best pro-people platform?

If you get time checkout my site brianbarnett. us

One more thing, i was listening to N.P.R. yesterday when a NBA champion basketball player screamed "Anything is possible"-i got chills.
Maybe work that sound bite into something?
Let there be PEACE☮

BOYCOTT WESTERN UNION

Pass the word on to all your friends in the US or abroad! We need to boycott Western Union as they have taken the majority of their business and shipped it to Costa RIca! Do you really trust an American Company that lays people off to increase their profits? Do you trust your money flowing through Costa RIca, a country that has no military that could be taken over at a moments notice.

Send this to all your friends!

One of the biggest challenges this country faces is how to provide transportation for the American people at reasonable prices. With gas prices surging past $4.00 a gallon, airlines raising their rates and the many delays that accompany a flight, many Americans are trying to find better methods to travel.

On the local level, buses and train systems for commuting are being utilized more effectively, especially in the Belleville and East St. Louis area.
The problem is, too much of this district does not have effective local commuting services, and we are also in need of a nationwide transportation solution. Amtrak, which is subsidized by the US Government, is not a viable solution to our mass transit problem. True, they have excellent prices for traveling – for example I was going to take Amtrak to Springfield, Illinois, from Alton, Illinois, and the cost was only $25. But the problem with Amtrak is that they do not own their own lines; instead they lease them from companies such as Union Pacific. UP will tell them when they have to lay over to allow for their trains to pass. One train I was going to take was running 2 hours behind because of this situation. I asked the Amtrak rep if this is normal, and he indicated it was regularly late, sometimes up to 5 hours.

In this day of high fuel prices, we must begin to look at alternative modes of transportation – locally, statewide, and nationally. Flying will not be the choice of travel for middle- and low-income people, and driving in road vehicles is costly as well. And both leave carbon footprints from their pollution. This government needs to enlist a team of experts to design a rail system strictly for transportation of people, and to travel throughout many parts of this country in a matter of hours.

It will take up to 20 years to get a fully viable system to all the country, but now is the time to begin this approach. High-speed trains are used in Europe, Japan, and Taiwan.
They have been ef

May 18 2008 9:50 PM

Denver Metro Green Party meeting, tomorrow Monday May 19th, 6:30pm at the Mercury Café in Denver at - 2199 California St. (303) 294-9281. All are welcome; get involved with a political party with the interest of the people in mind.

By the way, Mark Udall, Democratic candidate for US Senate recently voted for another blank check for Bush in regards to Iraq (at least he is consistent), how does that make you feel? Why not channel those emotions into helping Bob Kinsey’s historic campaign, challenging the two corporate parties who have completely sold out the citizens of this country and the world.
Everyone has skills that can help the campaign, get involved! Come to the meeting tomorrow night!
