Bio: What takes most artists years to accomplish, Crooked X is doing in a matter of months. Opening for KISS in Europe, touring with Ted Nugent, filming an MTV special, promoting their October 7th EP release and readying a 10-song debut for EMI/Capitol, helmed by super-producers Spencer Proffer (Quiet Riot, Tina Turner) and Michael Wagener (Ozzy, Skid Row, Poison).
The quartet, comprised of Forrest French (vocals, guitar), Jesse Cooper (lead guitar, vocals), Josh McDowell (bass) and Boomer Simpson (drums), began playing in fifth grade and cite influences that include AC/DC, Pantera, Alice in Chains, Jimi Hendrix, Metallica and Pink Floyd. Playing with finely-honed chops and a rock maturity way beyond their 14-years, they made a name for themselves in the Tulsa area (often selling out Cain?s Ballroom) and were a favorite on the Midwest club circuit, but their big break came in 2007. Ambitious and dedicated to their love of music, Crooked X sent a tape to CBS Early Show?s nationally televised talent competition ?Living Room?LIVE? and landed an impressive second place. That?s where music industry veterans Spencer Proffer and Doc McGhee spotted the band, and with their company, McGhee Proffer Media (MPM), started the Crooked X ball rolling with EMI Global Marketing and Capitol Records, forging a unique long-term partnership.

I was very serious when I said that I wanted to do this in Grand Rapids. I AM going to organize this demonstration (hopefully for sometime in May), and we are going to represent the lives lost in Iraq, both soldier and Iraqi....so, this could be something that children could also be encouraged to participate in, as there are children dying in Iraq EVERYDAY as well. All you will need is a white shirt (that we can write a number on) and a desire to participate in something bigger than yourself, to use your voice and body to help show people what this war is all about, and why we MUST end it. So, now, I need bodies! Are you willing to put your money where your mouth is and be a body for this demonstation (remember - all you have to do is lay there and play dead...who can't do that?!?)
Let me know ASAP and I will add your name to a growing list of others as awesome as YOU!
Thank You for the tickets.....Show was great....Yet again thank you it helped out are new forming band to scope out the different styles of playing and the venue and the music. Thanks
MPP is the largest marijuana policy reform organization in the United States. Founded in 1995, MPP works to minimize the harm associated with marijuana -- both the consumption of marijuana and the laws that are intended to prohibit its use. MPP believes that the greatest harm associated with marijuana is prison. To this end, MPP focuses on removing criminal penalties for marijuana use, with a particular emphasis on making marijuana medically available to seriously ill people who have the approval of their doctors.
MPP doesn't encourage marijuana use. But our failed marijuana laws cost taxpayers billions of dollars a year, keep police from focusing on real crimes, and fail to keep marijuana away from kids. We believe it's time for a new approach-- taxation and regulation.
Sincerely,
The Marijuana Policy Project
I think that I should get the tickets, because I am a starving artist, and I am one poor ass girl....getting out of school in a week, to work my ass off this summer.....and I have to say I havent got out of my tiny one bedroom apartment to do anything social in about 3 months!!!!!!!!!!!!
*Peace*
I think I should get Norma Jean tickets cause I'm also in a band thus I would have the maximum appreciation of the situation. And I'm not a poser scene kid, Im just a regular dude. Nough Said...
I think I should be the winner of the Norma Jean tickets. As a student of Music Industry Management, I'm interested in seeing a larger scale touring hardcore bill in the works. I havent seen Norma Jean in about 3yr. and I've been dying to see the Chariot. I've watched tons of online videos, but feel the need in my blood to see the chaos live. However, college + money = fiction. I'm broke, but I still wanna rock! [and in some ways learn.]
I think I should win norma jean tickets because it was just my birthday!!!!!!!!!!! and I have the hottest girlfriend on earth and she would do whatever for them and I want to propose to her at a norma jean show. Oh yeh and she works at the Grand Woods lounge right next door to the intersection.
hey thanks for the Gym Class Hero Tickets!!! Fun Night.... Had a blast brought a friend of mine and she enjoyed it!. Hopefully I can see more shows for free!! Thanks again for the tickets it was a riot!! except drinks at the intersection are very expensive...but thats not your fault.
