About me: Well, the Blaze was the first Women's full contact football team in the State of Louisiana. We were established in 2001 under the name of the New Orleans Spice and changed ownership in 2003 becoming the New Orleans Blaze. The Blaze is a licensed team with the National Women's Football Association (NWFA). The league was formed in 2000 by Catherine Masters in Nashville, Tennessee. The league started with only two teams and in 2007 we will have 34 teams. The teams cost between $35,000 and $50,000.***************************************
