Archangel began life as a one man band in the early nineties.

Drawing musical inspiration from several kinds of different music (from thrash metal to classical music), Archangel went composing original tunes and after some rough rehearsal recordings he released his first official demotape called DAEMON in 1994. DAEMON received interest from the Milan-based label LUCRETIA RECORDS; Archangel set to work on his first album in the fall of 1995 and by the summer of 1996 “IN TEARS THE ANGEL FALLS...” was released in Europe and Japan (through Fandango Records Japan). The album was and still is a unique masterpiece in the metal scene, its music was described by some critics as “symphonic techno-thrash” and songs like “Awakening”, “Christ in chains” and the mighty “You kill yourself” are still considered some of the best tracks that ever came out of the italian metal scene ever.

With the releasing of his debut album Archangel decided to get a real band togheter. In September 1996 he got togheter with Wewo and Blackie. The three of ‘em worked out their different musical backgrounds into a new direction for the band. A bigger production (due to the work of Livio Magnini, guitar player of the very well known italian band Bluvertigo) and a new sound made of “I.N.R.I.” (that stays for “Incarnate in a New Rebel Idol”), the band’s new release, one of the most interesting and original european productions of 1999. The sound was a futuristic mix of power groove thrash metal and electronic music with dozens of different elements resulting in a warm yet aggressive futuristic sound vision that had no equals at that time.

The band went through a lot of line up problems in order to find a stable bass player, and despite some press wrote the project was dead, the three Archangels (Wewo, Blackie and Archangel himself) never stopped writing songs and growing their sound into a modern soul touching monster. So when the band finally found Rage (bass) and Shin (guitar) everything was ready for the come-back. So after nine long years, the band’s new album,“LA VOGUE NOIRE” is ready to hit the scene.

Archangel inizia come one-man band nei primi anni '90 e nell'estate del 1996 esce in Europa il suo primo album: "IN TEARS THE ANGEL FALLS..." sotto la Lucretia Records International e in Giappone sotto la Fandango Records.

"In Tears The Angel Falls..." è un concept album diviso in quattro movimenti dove un monolitico Power-Metal si fonde con maestosi innesti sinfonici tardo ottocenteschi rendendo così inusuale ed originale quel connubio sonoro da venir etichettato con il termine "SymphonicTechnoThrash".

Dopo l'uscita di "In Tears The Angel Falls...", la Virgin del Giappone si offre di organizzare sul suolo nipponico il tour dell'artista. Sfortunatamente Archangel privo di una line up con cui portare fuori i pezzi dell'album si trova costretto a rifiutare l'offerta. Nel settembre 1996 Archangel diventa una vera band con l'acquisto del batterista Wewo, che tra l'offerta di suonare per i Prozac + o per Archangel sceglie quest'ultimo, e con il primo chitarrista Blackie (axeman e voce della storica formazione thrashcore dei Baiard e fondatore degli Hate Seed, combo death grind), subito dopo affiancati dall'altro chitarrista The Vicar e il bassista Lucy-Fuge.

Nel 1999 esce il secondo lavoro di Archangel: "INCARNATE in a NEW REBEL IDOL" sotto Cyber Shaman Records (sottoetichetta della Lucretia). Una maturazione artistica e ad una affiatata line up, danno al nuovo album un impatto molto più organico ed accattivante. Il suono di "Incarnate in a New Rebel Idol" è molto più elettronico e caleidoscopico, con i suoi innumerevoli innesti di altri stili, sempre supportati da una virtuosa e granitica sezione ritmica. La miglior produzione, curata da Livio Magnini dei Bluvertigo, l'originale mix di suoni gotico-cibernetici, riff valvolari d'ultima generazione ed i testi visionari - tra il Gibran più mistico e ispirato e la più futuristica ambientazione post-nucleare della sci-fi - portano gli Archangel a ricevere recensioni ancor più entusiastiche rispetto al primo lavoro, portando il nuovo disco ad essere distribuito nel tempo in tutto il mondo.

Nel 2006, dopo innumerevoli cambi di line-up alla formazione storica Archangel-Blackie-Wewo, si aggiunge un nuovo bassista, Rage, che con la sua energia consolida la sezione ritmica della band. Infine negli ultimi mesi del 2008 si unisce un secondo chitarrista, Shin, dando così un suono ancor più pieno e ricercato.

Nei primi mesi del 2009 esce il nuovo album "LA VOGUE NOIRE" stampato dalla francese Hurricane Entertainment e promosso dalla D.A. Records. Nel frattempo, dopo due anni di ricerche riguardanti la musica antica e le diverse intonazioni usate dai grandi compositori del passato e l’influenza delle frequenze sonore nei processi cerebrali compresi quelli emotivi e percettivi, Archangel scrive un libro intitolato 432HZ: LA RIVOLUZIONE MUSICALE - Dall’Accordatura Aurea, con cui intonare scientificamente la musica, alla biologia umana fino all’ipersinestesia nell’Universo Olografico - e trasla le sue ricerche nella sua musica affinché generi un ascolto logaritmico che rispecchi la geometria a Spirale Aurea della coclea del nostro sistema uditivo.

Dopo un album di musica sinfonica “L’OBSCURE SYMPHONIE D’AMOUR” intonato con il La del corista a 432 hertz e non ancora pubblicato, il nuovo album, la cui uscita è prevista a fine 2009 con il titolo provvisorio di “The Story of My Immortal Life”, porterà gli Archangel ad essere la prima metal band al mondo ad usare un’intonazione a 432Hz.
