   Newsies Flashmob 的自我介紹
關於我:
It's 1899 in NYC and Pulitzer and Hearst have raised the prices of newspapers, enraging the already struggling newspaper boys. Inspired by recent strikes, the newspaper boys or newsies call a strike of their own, join forces and spontaneously sing and dance in the face of "the man".

On June 2nd, 2007, a corner of San Francisco will become New York in the late 19th century and a mass of people (perhaps including you) will become Newsies.

If you loved the movie and the musical, if you find yourself singing "Seize the Day", "The World will Know" or other tunes and if you've always wanted to be one of those paper boys/girls . . . this is your chance. The message that the Newsies have in their songs are very applicable today so keep that in mind as well.

What is a flash mob?: (wikipedia) A flash mob (or inexplicable mob) is a large group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, do something unusual for a brief period of time, then quickly disperse.

If you're interested and have questions please message this site and we'll be happy to answer any questions. The lyrics are above in the blog. Participants should print it out and bring it with them and we encourage people to familiarize themselves with the songs (many available on myspace music).

Oh and . . .spread the word. **************** June 2nd, 2007 (Saturday) Union Square (at the column) 12:00 noon Wait for the fog horn and two whistles to blow and begin singing. Lyrics will be posted on the blog or can be sent to you upon request
我想認識:
Everyone with a voice - especially those that want to stick it to Pulitzer and Hearst.

There will be no Jazz hands . . . I'm serious people . . . If I see one hand waving in the air . . . so help me God.

It didn't happen! (as such) No organizer ever showed up! A few of us (see the comment with the picture) did our own impromptu song after about 40 minutes when it became clear that no "official" flash mob was happening. We had fun with that though :)
