"Brighton-based band New Sun Blues took to the stage next presenting their own brand of alternative rock with gorgeously melodic vocals. The out of towners still managed to draw a huge crowd and no doubt won themselves a hell of a lot more fans on the night thanks to the fact they have some bloody good tunes. " .... Reviewer: Christine Toner - 6 May 2009 - Music-news Presents Unsigned...Brixton .... One morning a young man living the suburban life moved his considerable musical talent to the sunny seaside cradle of music that is Brighton. There he met two other like minded and equally talented musicians who, together with said young man, formed a band out of the birth of a slightly unhappy new sun, subsequently naming it New Sun Blues. .. As time rolled on the trio began to develop a sound that takes in the anthemic elements of grunge kings such as Nirvana whilst adding the harder rock n roll of bands like Pearl Jam and the delicate intricacies of Jeff Buckley. Excitement grew inside and outside of the band as tunes such as Butterflies and Dazed began to sink into the hearts and minds of everyone lucky enough to see them. .. The band is currently planning on recording their debut album this summer with a release date to follow not long after. In the mean time you can expect a few singles planned for download. The band will also continue to book and play a number of supporting gigs across the south east, and look to set up a bigger U.K/Euro tour in support of the album later this year.
