The aim of the festival is to support and encourage the social and cultural development of the local community by means of providing a platform for local and visiting musicians and entertainers of all ages, abilities and musical styles.
The festival started life as a dream shared by local musicians. With the help of local volunteers the festival was born! Our first was in the summer of 1989 and as they say "The rest is history"
Over the years,the team have improved the festival trying new ideas and suggestions from the public.
We can all say, there wouldn't be a festival with out all the Volunteers. A special thanks should be given to everyone who has been involved in the festival over the years also, many have given their own time to help make the Festival a success.
All monies raised, go back into the festival fund for the following years event. Without these funds the festival would not happen, so please bare this in mind when you are trying to jump over the back fence!!
