About me:
Welocme to the myspace home of Big Cosmo & the New Traditionals. We are a six-piece band playing our own brand of Americana music in the Jacksonville, FL area and around Florida and the Southeast. Check out our music, join us at a gig, or visit our website www.newtradtionals.com We are proud to be the "house band" for the music festivals Suwannee Springfest and MagnoliaFest and were prividged to be the backup band for the late Vassar Clements on many occaisons. They have shared stages with the likes of Peter Rowan, Donna the Buffalo, Blueground Undergrass, Ralph Stanley & the Clinch Mountain Boys, Del McCoury Band, Doc Watson, Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Tony Rice, David Grisman, and many others. Band members are: Steve Pruett: acoustic & electric mandolin, occaisional lead guitar, Brian Homan: dobro & pedal steel guitar, Alan Dalton: banjo, Brian Spradlin: electric bass, Mike "Thunderfoot" Cancellor: drums, Randy "Big Cosmo" Judy: lead vocals & acoustic rhythym guitar. The New Traditionals are often joined by guest musicians including Tom Nelly: electric lead guitar, Chris Miller: tenor & soprano sax, and Lindsey Pruett: fiddle
