Interpreters of the munted, chaotic whirlpool that is the prolix collectiveness, distilled down to rhythm, rhyme and reason that piques the conscience first, the feet swiftly following, New Translation exist to furgle the fallacy of music absent of affectivity, bereft of brio and vacant of vivacity. From the ether, the music enters the adroit Translators, is stripped and searched, prodded and poked, massaged and imbued with the stylistic imprint of the incumbents’ bar sinister. Apperceptive processes dance on the ceiling of burlesque cognitive tendrils, shooting bolts of erudite lightning from your id to others’ via the essential funk organs, curing epidemics of ennui through the conjury of song.
So let this peroration be a warning; the New Translation is coming for you like a bomb with OCD." - Corey, 2007.
Formed by Corey (guitar), Steve (drums) and Dave (piano) in 2005, The New Translation was then completed in early 2007 with the addition of Shaun (bass) with new singer Polly joining in early 2008. Desiring to integrate a vast number of influences, New Translation's goal is to break free from the bonds of genre based music groups and show its audience music they've not heard before.
To book New Translation for your venue or for any other questions relating to the band, please call Corey on 0404 495 363 or message us on the MySpace
As Australians indulged in over $200 million worth of chocolate this week, some 100,000 children were forced to work as slaves on cocoa fields in West Africa producing 70% of the very chocolate we eat.
In 2001, all the world's chocolate companies made a promise to end child slavery in cocoa by July 2008. We only have four months to go.
We need young people like you to lead the movement. Become an End Child Slavery Ambassador today. Applications close this Friday 4 April, so sign up today!

Yeah, it was good playing with you guys as well. Sorry we couldn't stick around for long after we finished, we had a friends band playing over at the Electric Light we wanted to get to. I did catch the start of your set though, and from what I saw you guys are coping very well indeed without your singer. Hopefully sometime I'll be able to catch a whole set!
We're playing a show this sunday at the Enigma Bar with To The Throne (syd), Cuthero and Secrets In Scale. We'd love to see you there and have you spend Easter night rockin with us! Doors are at 9pm.
