NEWTYPE is an electro-industrial-kitchen sink-space-rock vessel which hails - unfortunately - from Leicestershire in the Un-United Kingdom of the planet Earth.
It was assembled in the year 2003 AD from the surviving parts and crew of the notable but not widely recognised vessels New Hole In Her Head, Sump and Burning Question.
Originally NEWTYPE had a six man team of 'experts' in noise generation but was soon reduced to just two when it was democratically agreed that it had become overcrewed and three of the original members left to form another vessel - Dreams Of The Droid - while the fourth is currently pursuing a solo mission as TOMA (http://www.myspace.com/tomaband).
Forced into hiatus the core members and founders - brothers AARAN & CRAIG - decided to continue and streamlined their sound and began writing new material to suit, taking it in a more electronic/industrial direction with programmed beats, electronic backing and samples inspired by their mutual love for electronica & general disillusionment with actual live human musicians.
After they had re-established themselves and began performing again as a duo they were eventually able to expand their personnel to a stable three man unit with the addition of low frequency specialist Pete Sheppard after rescuing him from the smoking wreckage of their sadly missed sister vessel BEG TO DIFFER. It was decided that additional subsonic frequencies we're necessary for the improvement of their sound and Pete was the ideal candidate for the job as his ideas and tastes matched their own.
Once more with a fully functioning compliment of personnel they continue with their mission in exploring their futures now, documenting and recording their findings and distributing them throughout the ether for past and future generations to decipher.
