Interviewer: How did it all start?
Paula NewWoman: My dear friends’ mother died and I inherited a small toy keyboard from her... and the sounds in that keyboard somehow inspired me to do my own interpretations of huge, classical, eighties hits. Songs of Whitney Houston, Tina Turner, Kim Wilde and so on..
I: Your versions are far from the originals....
PN: Thank you…. I’m kidding. I love the originals… their banal stories and beautiful melodies. The chords and the tempo I changed. And off course the accompaniment is very slight, it’s only the small keyboard and guitar…
I: And you play the guitar and the keyboard at the same time when you play live. You have this technique... you strum the guitar as you’re supposed to, with two hands, and then you hit the bass notes on the keyboard with the head of the guitar. Why do you do that when you are so bad at it?
PN: You are too kind..... I do it because I still think I can tell a story… and I do it because I love playing instruments!!!
I once knew a girl who had quite a few pimples on her behind. She always said: “I refuse to let my sexual life limit to the missionary position because of bad skin”. It's kind of the same thing.
I: oho…

udstillinger i galleriet.
Så kender du nogen der kan bidrage med noget nyt eller ekstra til det
vi allerede kan - og som er initiativrig, ambitiøs og social - så peg
dem i vores retning.
