This band formed when Pat D called up Aaron and Tim to go into the studio and record some music. They had never rehearsed or officially played a gig as a trio, although they had played together in various ensembles. A record came out of that first session, New York Electric Piano, and that became the band's name. The band picked up steam, playing gigs in New York and discovering they had something to offer. The records made CMJ's top 20 in April of 2004 and received many favorable reviews. The band collaberated with an ancient War Oracle for their next disc, and played some of the downtown rock clubs with this new, eruptive material. Midlantic Records signed the band to do a record called Citizen Zen, which received some glowing remarks in the January 2006 JazzTimes and was featured nationally on Listen Here Radio. They played a stellar gig at Crash Mansion unveiling this music. In the past months the band has been gigging at the Cutting Room, a club known for its expansive vibe. Relix magazine selected NYEP to be featured in their August 2006 issue. In March of 2007 Blues in Full Moon was released and received a healthy dose of airplay and press charting on both the CMJ and World Roots Music charts. NYEP is now getting ready to record their next joint and it will feature the acoustic piano and special guests Till Behler, Leon Gruenbaum, Deanna Kirk, and Mal Stein.

He was actually on tour in CA until New Year's Eve. They were at the House of Blues on 12/31. I'll keep my eye on your schedule - I think you are going to be at The Bitter End on Jan 22nd. I plan to be there. Thanks for keeping me posted on your gigs! Happy New Year!!!!
