"No Effects" reunites a group of european artists with the object of organising an event - the theme of which is to present a particular form of interpreting experimental electronic music. The music proposal, though obviously related to contemporary genres of music (IDM, Clicks'n'cuts, breaks, glitchcore..) defies any specific classification. The artists do not share a common style, but techniques and concepts relative to the sonic matrix. Being a relatively new musical phenomenon, principaly web-based, the movement intends to expand and reach a more public access through live performances. 'No Effects' proposes to impact on the Standard conception of what is music allowing a more diverse, wider vision.

"No Effects / Generative - Destructive":

Sounds generated by computers, synthesizers, recorded foley, elaborated with a non-conventional use of effects - then processed through applications that modify the algorithms of the binary code that describes the sound. This technique produces a radical change of sound and rhythm - generative/destructive.

"Random / Hybrid":

The informatic applications used incorporate the modulation of aleatory functions. This makes for a singular simbiosis between the the interpreter and the instrument, programming precise sequences through randomisers the creator shares the experience of the creative process with a form of artificial intelligence. The final musical product is therefore fruit of a concious hybrid between man and machine.

"Concrete Music / Funky - Jazz":

It is music that identifies itself entirely with it's format thus imposible to fix to musical partition. At the same time it's a style of music that rhythmically involves the listener, not limiting itself to being purely conceptual. Rhythmic references to rhytmic solutions of funky jazz and other genres stimulate an emotional response, often absent in so called experimental music.
