The Mill takes place every week (as of 2nd April 09 it's every Thursday, alternating from Edinburgh (2nd Apr) to Glasgow (9th Apr) and continuing in this format for the rest of the year). Both venues, created by Miller Genuine Draft, showcase the best in emerging new music each week, giving live music audiences and artists alike a unique gig experience. All gigs are FREE entry (but you must get your tickets in advance via the website). WWW.THEMILL-LIVE.COM

The Mill is a gig experience that will offer fans the highest quality in emerging music all FREE of charge. Every gig / band is being professionally filmed and live music videos (and recording level audio) will be produced for each artist. The audience can be in the videos and are encouraged to get involved, there is a panel of music industry experts from all sectors of the industry helping select bands and they will be at the gigs doing interviews and DJ sets etc. There is a lot of additional promotions planned as of April 09 which is all very exciting, keep an eye on the site for more info! So far The Mill has hosted more than 40 live gigs from over 80 of the hottest emerging bands and there are now over 135 MP3s and over 30 live videos for Free Download from the site as well as well over 400 photos. You can download MP3s from the nights using Bluetooth technology throughout bars and clubs in Edinburgh and Glasgow as well as The Mill's very own Bluetooth Download Van which you will see in both cities now and again. Miller has a National and Regional press company working on promoting the bands and nights. Also, Miller has dedicated their annual Advertising budget to promoting all the bands that play, generally this is only afforded to the biggest bands.

If you want tickets, go to the website and get a mobile ticket. If it's too late or sold out then simply join NFS mailing list above and you will be emailed with the opportunity to get on the exclusive guest list we run each week. Also, EVERY gig we promote is attended by a very professional live music photographics company called Faction Photographics - after each gig they create a slide show of photos they have taken. We also continue to develop our DJ slots at Born To Be Wide, where we play list bands that have performed with us or are going to be performing with us (check their profile in our top friends - this is a night all bands should attend to meet music people).

Static Rain is a 2 piece band from the beautiful Yorkshire town of Keighley. Band members Tony Garthwaite and Jacob Barlow formed the band in 2008, driven by a joint passion for both electronic music and retro synths. The music they produce can be described as electronic pop with catchy choruses and memorable riffs that are prominent in all of their songs, making them popular with a very wide audience.
Following their initial success on MySpace, Static Rain continues to build a solid fan base and a strong reputation as a live act.  The band is currently looking for gigs from June 2009 onwards throughout the whole of the UK.
