NIAH-REBEL aka WISS-WASS: Rastafarian, chanter, singer and song-writer
Born in the foothills of Kingston Jamaica Kirk Jones aka Niah Rebel (formerly known as Wissi Wassi) began his career as a young performing artist at school and in his community. His talent and interest in recording led him to the studio during after school hours and his first professional voicing on a track done at a studio in Sea-view Garden Community of the present artist Rodney Price aka Bounty-Killer and Ran Stan aka Shaba-Ranks. His gift for music continued receiving recognition when touring with greats such as Steven Marley, Shack a D and Pliers, Tyrone Taylor, Evad, Papa San, Lady G, Grind Man, Wailing Soul, Wadada, Cool breeze, The Melody Maker and others. For over two years, he worked contracts with Tuff Gong Studios and Cedella Marley and performed at events such as the Bob Marley Bash, the Coronation Celebration of HIM Imperial, Majesty and his wife Empress Mennen, Bust Negril, White River Bash and many more.
Niah Rebel has most recently worked in the studio with greats such as Mykal Rose and Sly & Robbie as well as with upcoming artists who seek a professional edge. His unique sound brings fullness of life to his listeners through a combination new consciousness mixed with a soulful heart only a native Jamaican can conjure.
