Recorded and produced over the last year in Sun Studios by Gareth Mannix(Republic of Loose, Director,The Flaws), Finds(release date March 2009 on 1969 Records) is Niall’s first solo project after two critically acclaimed albums with the band Salthouse. Playing many of the instruments on these new tracks himself, Niall has honed a distinctive style; a hushed confidence of melody and groove, inside disco, rock and sometimes even folk. Not afraid to admit where his inspiration comes from, he says it's everything from love, loss to the history of life.
Niall’s songs come across as honest explorations of everyday feelings without the smaltz. He hits a characteristic groove in each song, which just continues on through, hooking you in. Together, the songs leave an impression of subtlety, individualism and toe-tapping rhythm, with lyrics that creep on up and get you thinking.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------"Proving that the art of song writing isn't dead, Niall Colfer's debut is a joy to listen to from start to finish....Blind Eye is one of the best tracks that i've heard in moons". great but..... the chocolate bosses has decided to pull the plugs on live bands.... it doesnt pay them enough..i cant understand it, free night for them, bands dont get any payment and they bring in punters into the bar.....
to be honest i dont think chocolate get it either, they were less than helpful and supportive in our 4 nights there...try soundchecking with a brittney spears album blasting over the p.a.!! also they had a tendency to put on their in house music over my dj set every night..... so every cloud has a silver lining...
we are in the process of looking for a new venue...you probably know michael way, he is the guy who does the booking for bands, its his baby so to speak...anyway talk soon!
