'Cascading, Byrdsian harmonies and poignant, heart-wrenching lyrics... backed by the swooningly, transcendent vocal talent of Katie Harnett... a whiff of Dylan-esque charm to his stance and even a waft of The Boss at his most Country or perhaps Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris reunited once more.'
- Martyn Myers - Bonanza
'Peaceful, organic folk pitched somewhere between Kid Harpoon and Gram Parsons.'
– Alex Miller - NME
'Lyrically, Quinn shows real sharpness and awareness of modern society.'
- Cooty - Blues Matters
'With a smattering of Americana, some good honest folk and a cracking sense of songwriting, Niall Quinn is quickly emerging as one of the UK's brightest talents. Influenced by the likes of Dylan, Ryan Adams, Gram Parsons and Tom Waits, Quinn can not only tug at your heart strings but play them like an old guitar. Katie Harnett adds her hauntingly beautiful but deceptively powerful vocals to a selection of Niall's tracks.'
- Roland Monger - Ravenous
'Unpretentious, homely acoustic music with a candle-lit Dylan-esque waft to his harmonica-infused modern folk. A gentle, easing voice and thoughtful lyrics.'
- Skif - Vanity Project
'An interesting lyricist. Vocally, his upper register is not a million miles away from Feargal Sharkey. 'an engaging and interesting listen.'
- Dan Wilkinson - Americana UK
'Strong songs, eloquently delivered. A highly evocative writer.'
- Neil Fatea - Fatea
'Lyrically charged singer/songwriter with a warm, heartbreaking voice. Fiercely affecting acoustic songwriting with a folk spirit and a country flair.'

Hello, after an unfortunate hiatus, the reasons for which are probably best not gone into here, we finally have some new music on the AUK MySpace site. For your listening pleasure this month we offer Nathan Oliver, Conrad Ford, the irrepressible Todd Snider and the delightful Beccy Owen. Don't forget too, for those of you within striking distance of Leicester, Electric Dustbowl 2 on 19 September.
hey love your music! and love the quote. I totally agree! I think Kindness is too often under rated! glad to see someone else out there shares the sentiment! can't wait to see you at the green note!
Hello and a Happy New Year to you. An eclectic bunch of songs new to the site this month. The frankly uncategorisable Icelandic band Storsveut Nix Noltes, the sardonic lyics (plus ukelele) of Dent May. some dark folk from The Deep Dark Woods and emerging US singer-songrwiter Israel Nash. Hope you like them all.
