A vocalist/lyricist/musician and producer, Niav is known
for her creative production techniques,evocative lyrics
and unique vocal style .
An Irish born singer/songwriter ,she currently lives on the
south coast of nsw in Australia .
Portraying raw human emotion , lyrically and vocally , Niav's musical arrangements can be as simple as an acoustic guitar
and vocal piece or large productions of many layers and effects .
Her singing has been described variously as haunting , emotional ,
ethereal , and unique ....the combination of opera training
and growing up in Ireland's celtic musical atmosphere producing
an unusual vocal flavour.
Niav formerly an electronics engineer by trade,
is also a published poet.
Her debut album Woman in a World Gone Mad is nearing completion
scheduled for release in 2008.

My songs are known for their emotive and evocative expression lyrically,musically and in performance.
I sing from the heart and soul and soar when I sing, it is a great joy to me and whether songs I have written or songs from the universe,singing brings me great peace and contentment.
Topically, my songs appeal to the mind rather than the heart or feet in general.
I have been known to shock and to back up hard lyrics with powerful musical expression in a socio-politico way.
I leave the love songs to others and try to focus on the darker emotional side of the human condition and hope in doing so to contribute to keeping minds open and aware in these oppressive times.
The material is all around us every day in people's lifes and world events.
Only by opening doors to dark places can we let the light wash in and effect change.
I prefer this world to be colourful and not grey.
