About Nicci Lawrence

I'm not completely sure what to write here. I'm a 17 year old Jazz singer and I thought it was high time I got myself one of these things.

At the moment, I usually only do covers of well known jazz songs but I'm hoping to branch out and put abit of a twist on it.

I usually perform with bands but at a push I'll use backing tracks - beggars can't be chosers. I'm currently looking for a more perminant function band that I can sing with regularly rather than be a guest performer. So if you're looking for a singer, don't hesitate to contact me! Please excuse the poor quality song atm. I uploaded it onto my pc and went jumpy...I'm not sure why. It'll give you an idea of what I sound like in the mean while.

2 out of 3 ain't jazz	Jun 15 2007 11:43 AM don't know really. got offered a job at a secondary school so mite take that, definately gonna carrying on with gigs tho. maybe bit of traveling if i have enough money? wanna get lots of work experience in the music world ready for uni/college - if i get in! so if hear of anyone who needs a saxophonist....? lol. xxx

2 out of 3 ain't jazz	Jun 10 2007 2:46 PM yeah. No1 seems to believe we're related. I can't immagine why? lol. We got a couple lined up but it's difficult atm. I've got A2 exams which start next week (agh!) and the other two are at uni. Can be a right bitch getting gigs sometimes tho. So do you have to pay to get into a recording studio like every1 else or do u "know people who know people"? lol. xx

Can't remember. Backing tracks are a good way to start - way cheaper than the real thing! It's a shame though cos there's nothing quite like live jazz! So you got any gigs lined up over the summer? x
