Well, as you can see I like to draw and paint!! I'm a 27 year old mom, wife, & artist. My 2 young boys keep me quite busy, and I am truly lucky to stay home with them, while my husband works his day job! He would much rather be playing guitar, but he gets plenty of time to do that in his free time, with his 2 bands Kuwahara & Kiss the Witch. I am also an administrator and co-creator of Parental Playground, the friendliest parenting site around!
As an artist, my main goal is to create affordable, beautiful, personal artwork. You DON'T have to be rich to afford a piece of original artwork! ~Artist's Bio~
About 6 years ago, I started my own business, drawing and painting portraits from snapshots. I began by doing them for myself as gifts, friends, & family. I have been drawing since I was a child. Actually the artistic touch runs in my family. My mother and grandmother are both artistically talented. For as far back as I can remember I have always wanted to draw people. I love the challenge of capturing one of the hardest subjects, the human face. In 2000 I was accepted into the Art Institute of Chicago, which was a cool accomplishment, after 2 years at community college. I did not attend the institute, as I couldn't come up with that kind of dough, and instead chose a college closer to home(Bradley University). I attended 3 years of art school before baby number one came. I also worked at an certain Central Illinois art organization, so I know all about the way politics often control museums, gallery's, and their artists. Which brings us back to my main goal! To create affordable, beautiful, personal artwork. You DON'T have to be rich to afford a piece of original artwork, art is for everone! I am always up for swapping artwork for other handcrafted items, by fellow artisans or creative crafty people. I love being a mom, and drawing children is so much fun for me. I think that by having a portrait done, it freezes that moment in time, even more than a photograph. It is a tribute to the person in the portrait, and it keeps them that same age forever, at least in the piece.

Now this is an original piece of art, never copied or recreated. Photos for the drawing can be mailed or emailed to me if you're not in town. Photo selection is a key part in creating a good portrait. Pick a clear, in focus, photo with a good amount of face showing. Also I can do framing, of course for additional costs. If you need it shipped we can discuss further prices.I require at least a $20 deposit on all orders, for insurance that buyer will want piece when it is finished. I accept paypal and money orders. Piece will be shipped when payment is received.

All portraits are my own original stuff....and my prices are dirt cheap!!! Trust me I've done research...I'm the cheapest artist around!! They are a one of a kind gift that your special someone would cherish. Children, couples, individuals, celebrities, or groups...I must admit, my favorite are old family photos.

LOL puffy paint sounds fun... well...with my project...I completely overestimated their patience with it...I had them cut strips of paper and then weave them together and the weaving part was so hard for them and therefore NOT fun...they even asked me afterwards whether they could throw it in a garbage...LOL anyway, hopefully next time :)
