His music brings an infusion of soul, country and rock. Layer that on top of organic urban grooves and a voice reminiscent of Otis Redding and Chris Robinson, (Black Crowes) and you have a new sound in Nic Cowan. Nic will be embarking on his first national tour as part of the "Breaking Southern Ground" tour starting Sept 24th, 2009. The tour will be headlined by the Zac Brown Band and supported by Nic as well as other Southern Ground artists, Levi Lowrey and Sonia Leigh.
Based out of Atlanta, Georgia, Nic is working with producer Zac Brown, (Zac Brown Band) and Kid Rock to create his debut album due to release in the fall of 2009. An earlier 5 song EP was released on May 25th entitled, "Pocket Change" and has been produced by Ryan Newell, (Sister Hazel). You can get Pocket Change at any of Nic's live shows.
