Interests

  • General

I love to watch movies, watch movie trailers, drink soda, and catch up with old friends...
  • Music

All kinds of rock from any decade, but prefer old rock 'n' roll music from the 50's and 60's the most. Also like movie music scores as well as anything on Pittsburgh's 102.5 WDVE with their 'DVE Morning Show (You have to hear these guys. They are uproarious!) Basically, that means I love just about everything, although I don't like most country and newer rap...

  • Books

I love the Wayside School books from my childhood, as well as books about the movies and the directors who make them, as well as certain shooting scripts, that is if they are availible. I also love A Walk to Remember by Nicholas Sparks, Striptease by Carl Hiaasen, Get Shorty and Be Cool, which were both written by Elmore Leonard, Shopgirl by Steve Martin, Starter for 10 by David Nicholls, and Little Children by Tom Perrotta. But my favorite book of all time is Big Trouble by Dave Barry, which is easily the funniest novel I've ever read. There are many others out there, but I can't remember them all...
  • Heroes

Paul Thomas Anderson, Stanley Kubrick, Terry Gilliam, anyone from Monty Python, Denis Leary, Christopher Titus, Ferris Bueller (I wish he was real), my family, my friends and anyone else around me that makes me feel good about myself...

Blurbs

About me:

First off, please keep in mind that if I don't know you, or if I've never heard of you, I will turn down your request to be added to my friends. This is for my friends and family ONLY! Sorry. Now for the good stuff. My name is Nicholas Vargo and I'm 23 years old. I've just moved to a small town called Laveen, which is just west of Phoenix, Arizona. Before that, I had previously lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (which I already miss dearly) and before that, I lived in Vista, California (which I miss more because I was born and raised there). My life ended up in shambles back in June 2007, when my mother passed away after a 7 1/2 year bout with emphyzema, and the shockwaves of that are still felt even now. Although I have a passion for writing, I currently work at Best Buy and I absolutely love it (although I loved it way more when I was living in PA. My crew at store 585 were the best. I Miss all of you!). Although I don't really have much of a life outside of that, I do have interests in movies, movie music, great rock 'n' roll (which I can enjoy all in one place on my video iPod), Texas Hold'em, certain television shows (I'm looking at Spaced, Arrested Development, 30 Rock, and Pushing Daisies in that area), and movie trailers. Below is the International and American trailers and TV Spots for "Pirate Radio" (or better known as "The Boat That Rocked" overseas). It's the newest film from Richard Curits, the creator of Love Actually and Four Weddings and a Funeral, and it comes out in American theatres November 13th. I've also included two terrific deleted sequences that will definitely not be in the movie when it comes out. Anyway, check them out:

Who I'd like to meet:

I would like to meet anyone who is famous. In fact, my dream group of who I would want to meet would consist of Emma Thompson, Emily Watson, Annie Potts, Bonnie Hunt, Tom Hanks, Rick Moranis, Dick Miller, Margaret Whitton, Stephen Fry, Tilda Swinton, Kenneth Branagh, and Al Pacino. I would also like to meet God and friends who I would love to find who to me seem long lost, but not forgotten.

i left best buy shortly after the holiday season. i live right down the street so i stop in from time to time. the front lanes are all new people other than ryan who recently was promoted to senior because kristie left. as far as my life is concerned i can't complain. i'm taking a trip to alabama with my boyfriend the end of this week. congrats on the car, although you may have been better off with a moped with today's gas prices. hope things go well for you.
