Details of Nick's band 'The Hall Brothers' can be found on their
website
Nick is one half of the acoustic band, The Hall Brothers and has been a semi-professional musician since 1991, going fully professional two years ago. As a member of the Hall Brothers Nick has played all around the country, in Ireland and Holland and has released two albums independently and three albums through the indie label Confidential Records.
In 2003, Nick began performing seriously as a solo artist while his brother was making waves in the world of academia. He has worked on the singer-songwriter circuit in London with great success, and has supported Hugh Cornwell, Glenn Tilbrook and Black among many others. He has released one studio solo album, The Golden Time, through Confidential Records that got rave reviews and sold well. Nick has also used this time to explore new collaborations including the occasional act 'Hall & ONeill'.
The latter duo, featuring Nick and actor/musician Chris ONeill (star of Backbeat and many other films) came about when the two were introduced by mutual friends at a gig at the Buffalo Bar venue in Highgate, London. Also as a result of this meeting, the Hurts Like Hell e.p. was recorded by Chris and his colleague Dave Reilly (ex-drummer/songwriter with China Crisis and The Real People). Nick was overwhelmed by Dave and Chriss generosity and musicality.
Hurts Like Hell is a collection of two of Nicks most requested songs lovingly re-recorded and lavishly produced (Patching Up My Soul and Big-hearted Northern Boy) with the addition of the sweeping, sixties-influenced Hurts Like Hell, the spare balladry of Undertow and a slice of politically-conscious folk-rock; The Man Apart.
Nick is also now a professional actor, having worked on two theatre shows, 'Entrenched' and the hit show 'Life Of Pi' which just finished its 4 month tour at Greenwich Theatre.
Here is a link to one of Nick's early albums 'Time & Tragedy' by The Hall Brothers, now available on iTunes... more of the back catalogue to come!

Good to hear that woman has got you productive. Can't wait to hear the new work. Would love to assist if you ever do head this way. I'm thinking spring is probably the best time to head your way, but will need assist with some work over there, we'll talk. Be well my young brother, Chris
Will not be heading your way this fall my friend too much to do, too much to say, a new CD just released today, garnered a Seattle music rag with cover, interview & review, now I am morphing into a PR man, I'm six tunes into a new project, that I happen to think is going to be my best work yet, leery regarding travel with no immunization against H1N1, pissed off that the US can’t even get vaccine for first line defenders much less citizens, seriously considering cosmetic surgery as time keeps beating the shit out of my body, which doesn’t really bother me, but the face…can’t it leave face and hair be, worried about the climate, depressed with what I hear on the radio, wish George hadn’t died, I miss the Wibury’s, have a house to clean, a dog to kick ever so tenderly and alas, I’m six tunes into a new project. Hope this finds you well, happy, in love, rested, productive, writing, planning, playing, loving, sharing, experiencing, negotiating, aggravating those that need it, perfecting altruism within your ability of serve, collecting, inspective, considering, civil, suggestive-a bit repetitive with those that either can not hear well, don’t care for you, don’t care for the content of your rant, thought or just day to day conversation.
We are finally ready to start promoting my 'I Surrender' single with my album, 'Ella Trip' coming right after -yey!! What d'ya think to the video teaser?
After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Saw you online my friend and thought I would say hello. New CD will be into mix this week then hopefully to mastering shortly afterwards. It started as one thing and ended up another, but happy I am with the product. Heading back into the studio for two more, hopefully by years end and then the road is calling. Still considering heading to the UK in November for a short stay, longer if I can find some work, but have decided to try and take all this recording on the road in the States, if I can garner some air play....tons of work ahead for me.
Hope all is well with you, the music and life in general. Be well Nick, Chris
Hey Nick, So pleased to know you two are off to such a wonderful start. I'm not sure regarding the UK for awhile, I'm just finishing up the new CD, The Attic Sessions..first mix of one of the tunes is on me site for a day or so. I start a new project with my group, Poor Judgment in three weeks and upon completion of that, hopefully in September, I'm back in the studio for another solo project. I'm thinking at this point I won't be over until perhaps next spring if not summer. That said, there is a chance of a sneak attack in November when my daughter turns forty...holy moly, do you know how old that makes Gerry Cooper? Talk soon my young brother, Chris
