Sounds Like
...If Ben Folds played guitar all by himself. If John Darnielle had a more pleasant childhood. If Harvey Danger never got famous. If Liz Phair still cared. Oh yeah, and was a guy.
Nick Bognar is the only rock musician in US history to be directly descended from 13 past US presidents.
As such, he has taken up the mantle of combining genius songwriting with strong hooks and very mediocre guitar playing for all the world to see.
A Nick Bognar show is like a great party- you laugh, you drink, you sing along, you laugh at the bald guy (Bognar), and then eventually and inevitably, you go home with a very, very beautiful woman. Or man. There's plenty to go around, kids.
Mr. Bognar has toured the United States, playing in Indiana, Arizona, and Louisiana, to name a few, as well a few other less-known places like Washington DC, Los Angeles, New York, Boston, and his adopted home of Chicago (the one in Illinois). He has also toured England, and is fluent in French just in case someone French attends a show and has something to say. Mr. Bognar is open to both positive and negative criticism, as long as it is in French.
Often described as "Green Day Lite" or "Ben Folds Jr.", Mr. Bognar shuns pejorative comparisons and insists on being described as "Bobby Bognar, Senior".
"PolyRhythmic Without a Trace" will be at The Spot, 4437 N Broadway, on Tuesdays during January and February while Trace is closed for renovations. This coming Tuesday, January 20th, Emily Rose will be our feature. You don't want to miss this funny and sexy lady poet. Open mic sign-up starts at 10 pm. 21 and over please. We'd love to see our friends, old and new and the ones we haven't met yet, at our new temporary home, upstairs in the "green room. " PolyRhythmic endures and lives on! Vive la Revolution!
HEY NICK BOGNAR. I'm living it up in the burbs of Chicago... well, actually I've been working a lot. But I'm living and I'm awake right now so that counts. My beau works at Martyrs. I think I'm going there on Saturday. Fun times. Hope you are great and we'll catch up soonsville.
