Nick Carleton Band began February of 2005 in Denver, Colorado. Electric guitarist Dan Dalpra and lead singer Nick Carleton joined with bassist Nathan Calistro and drummer Erik Johnson in late 2006, early 2007. Erik Johnson was the drummer for “The Turning”, a nationally known group that disbanded in 2003. Being no stranger of Christian rock/alternative music, Erik became the perfect fit for the band when he joined in 2007. Though Nathan and Erik didn’t enter until a few years after it began, they’re all confident the group is now complete. With a creative limit nowhere in sight, the excitement is quickly growing for this Colorado-born band.
Each member of Nick Carleton Band shares a unique story of life, but all point in the same direction of Jesus Christ, salvation, and what it means to love God. The band has become known for big passion and high energy on stage, along with a heart to share the gospel through music with everyone who comes to listen. Lead singer Nick says, “Simply put, it’s our heart for everyone to know the one and only Christ, Jesus, who healed us from our brokenness!” Many songs on their current album, “The Only One” are clear-cut worship songs, with strength in content you’d expect from David Crowder Band, or Leeland. The others that just don’t fit in the “worship” song category are written in the framework of Christian life, similar to songs written by Delirious and Switchfoot. The group believes that all these songs honor God just the same.
“The Only One”, their debut CD, was released on April 15th, 2007. Since that time, their songs have seen radio play on multiple local radio stations, including 94.7FM KRKS, and 560AM The Light. With over 10,000 friends on the band’s MySpace page, they’ve found a large community of people favoring their unique sound. Through the international spread of their music over the internet, Nick Carleton Band’s tracks have even been aired in Scotland, and requested time after time. Robert Loftus, who has been a recording engineer for Christina Aguillera, Ray Charles, and many other prominent musical artists, reviewed NCB’s debut CD saying, “As a fan of Third Day, this band is further evidence that Christian music can be as introspective, relevant, and rocking as the best 'the world' has to offer while retaining integrity and faithfulness to the message of Love that our Lord and Father has called us to... Well done!” You can find their music on iTunes, Amazon, CD Baby, Wal-Mart online music store, and many other digital distribution sites.
With their goals set sky-high, Nick Carleton Band has strong motivation to share their music around the world. Rooted in a bold Christian faith, the band’s goal is simple. Nick explains, “In this fallen world, we’ve all been given another shot at our hope for Heaven. As Christ’s followers, we must reach those that haven’t heard about their second chance.” Working on new material for the next CD, NCB will come with new songs of hope, renewal, and restoration. They’re currently working toward a sophomore release expected in the late spring/early summer of 09.

“All believers, come here and listen, let me tell you what God has did for me. I called to Him with my mouth, my tongue shaped the sounds of music. If I had been cozy with evil, the Lord would never have listened. But most surly He did listen; he came on the double when He heard my prayer. Blessed be God: He didn’t turn a deaf ear, He stayed with me, loyal in His love.
