Originally from Lincolnshire and a regular at folk clubs around the Louth area I now live in Essex. I have been here since 1988 and perform regularly at Wivenhoe folk club. More recently I have been branching out into other areas of music and play regularly at open mic venues.
I have been writing a bit of late, the piece "Orla" has been waiting to be written for some time, it was inspired by a letter I saw taped to a bench in Marble arch square, it read: "Jonathan Dolby Lazar is a c%$&, if you want to see me, please ring. Love Orla xx". Just made me think.
The final piece is an old favourite of mine. The January man was written by Dave Goulder, it was once described by Mike Harding as “probably the finest contemporary folk song ever written”.
