Nick Drake is a singer/songwriter/composer who was born on June 19, 1948. He grew up in a loving, very musical family and learned to play several instruments, the guitar being his favourite to pursue his musical carreer with.
Nick studied in Marlborough and Cambridge, the latter with Literature as his major. He was a very good athlete & also played in school bands. He left school to move to London to become a full-time musician.
He was discovered by Ashley Hutchings from Fairport Convention who then brought Nick in touch with Island records producer Joe Boyd. He brought out 3 official albums, but succes stayed out. Being desillusioned & already somebody who always saw more of the world than some, he was prescribed anti-depressants, which eventually killed him with an (accidental?) overdose on November 25, 1974.
