Also, you can get free online trumpet lessons at http://www.nickdrozdoff.com. Just go to this site and follow the menu items to "On Line Lessons." I have a growing collection of simple instructional video clips there about how I practice. I don't charge for this service. I only ask that folks consider buying a CD if they find these helpful.

I am a free-lance trumpeter from the Chicago area. I play jazz, rock, R&B, funk, Latin, classical - whatever the gig requires. I specialize in diversity. I toured with Maynard Ferguson's band in 1981. Since then I have played for everyone from the Temptations to Sammy Davis, Junior to Dennis De Young of Styx to the Ojays. If you'd like to know more, hit my web site, http://www.nickdrozdoff.com and look for the tab "Press Kit."
I am an endorsing artist for the New York Trumpet Company Stage 1 trumpets and Eclipse trumpet company (from London) flugelhorns.
I love doing clinics and concerts. I can bring something a little different to my clinics as I have a dual background. In addition to being a free-lance trumpeter I work a day gig as a high school physics teacher. I have a masters in music and a masters in physics, and I specialize in the physical acoustics of music. This can be brought to bear on learning how to play trumpet better. Please feel free to go to my website and find the contact page to get in touch with me directly to explore my coming to your institution to perform and lecture.
Finally, one of the primary functions of this MySapce website is to share. Music is a lot like love - not completely meaningful until shared. Certainly I need to sell my CD's (see the band website at the left), but I want folks to hear my music. This is why I make it. It uplifts my spirit making it, and it is my hope and desire to uplift your spirits a bit by listening to it. If you like my work, PLEASE consider buying a CD. This will help me in going on to the next project (I pay all of my musicians upfront for their time; they are not asked to work on a speculative basis for "royalties," though they are in for a cut if I 'make it big.')
I welcome new friends! By the way, for the sake of full disclosure and honesty in the face of the controversy facing MySpace, I am fifty-something, and I have two wonderful kids (son, 17 and daughter 13). I've been happily married for 27+ years.
Peace!
Nick Drozdoff
