Sounds Like
Music...
Also like sentimental, nostalgic grooves. sometimes taking the listener on a prog-like journey musically which sometimes delves into realms of jazz, blues, ballad, classical-esque styles, etc.
Nick Gladdish is a Newcastle upon tyne based singer/songwriter/pianist, originally from Plymouth (south west Devon) who spent most of his teen years on bass and acoustic guitar in various original rock/pop outfits.
In 1998, having done all he could on the south-west circuit, Nick moved to North Yorkshire for three years to study Music. It was here, he met best friend and songwriting counterpart Lee Brown. The duo ("unplugged") gigged regularly on the north-yorkshire acoustic circuit playing covers and naturally the pair started to write songs together.
Having graduated in 2001 from Hull University, Nick relocated further North to continue songwriting with Lee, it was here ("Casualkai" - nick's current band) was born. Over the past 7 years, Casualkai (now a 5-piece lineup) have been well received on the circuit and the group continue to write and record together. When the band are on a break, Nick continues to work on his own material, busk, collaborate with local musicians on various music projects - whether it be a live/recording session, writing partnership or an original or covers gig, he is always to be found somewhere doing something creative.
Locally, Nick has enjoyed playing live and recording piano/backing vox for the following local acts:
The Unstable Tables (live/recorded sessions) Verity Burton (debut LP) Kelly Brownell ("Far Away Girl" sessions) Graham Testo ("Tailoring In The Dropzone" sessions) Owen R Davies (debut EP). Please check their myspace sites out.
Nick has recently produced a solo demo EP "Certain Ways", which was recorded and engineered by Jerry Stephens (Audio Angel productions in 2006). You can download some of these tracks from his website www.nickgladdish.com or just simply check them out right here!
Thanks for the add Nick Gladdish, I love your music btw!
If you get a chance, please take a listen to our first New Age release "Instrumental Piano Music" by Solo Piano Relaxing Music. We'd love to know what you think of it! WE have free downloads at our labels site for you to download.
Nick I swear to god, are we the only people left who use myspace? I agree, lets get outta here. All we need is some money and some gigs. We're in a bit of a chicken and egg situation really. XV
Hi Nick, nice to hear from you. You're tunes are good too. It's a shame the Newcastle gigs have reduced but hopefully they'll pick back up at some point. Would be good to catch up at some point. he nearest I am to Newcastle is Consett - I host an open mic there every Tues. If you want me to recommend any venues up my way or if you have anything of interest going on yourself let me know .

Hey! How's the weather over there? I just want to let you know that i'm coming to the UK in late May/early June to play bass with Kevin Montgomery and Tommy Allsup. Tommy played guitar with Buddy Holly, and is THE guy that flipped the coin with Ritchie Valens. I figured that with you being a musician that you would really be able to appreciate this show. Kevin made a little video at my studio last week while we were recording....check it out http://myspacetv. com/index. cfm?fuseaction=vids. individual&videoid=34589518
There are a series of shows in England and Scotland....dates are on my myspace.
We won't be doing my material, but it is a really special show, and Tommy is a true rock'n'roll legend.
Anyway, take care and hope to see you there.
