Nick Hardt is a MC / rapper from Lincoln, NE. In 2005 Nick started his performing career. In 2006 he put out “Live from the Symphony Garage,” an unofficial mixtpae which featured Brent Docter, Barlow, and Woodstoxxx, all heavy faces in the Lincoln music scene. In 2006 Hardt was featured on the battle-formatted album, “Battle at Fort Omaha” which featured many MCs from the Omaha area.
In 2007 Hardt opened up for numerous national acts including The Beatnuts, The Alkaholiks, Afroman, Greg Nice, and Awol One. That same year Hardt came out with his first official studio album, “Cardiac Arrest” which gained praise among the Lincoln and Omaha music scene and included several tracks that were played on radio nationwide and internationally such as, “Midwest Monopoly” and “Wash it All Away.” “Cardiac Arrest” featured some local heavyweights as well, like Jamazz, Lucas Kellisen, Barlow, Brent Docter, and scratching from DJ Nost.
In 2007 Hardt embarked on a west coast tour with fellow MCs, Barlow, Jeebz, and DJ Nost. The tour included Seattle, Portland, Fresno, Los Angeles, San Diego, among others.
In 2008 Hardt was featured on “A Situation EVOLves ” compilation album with numerous local acts from around Lincoln and Omaha. The two songs he contributed were “Bad Noise” and “Running from a Riot.”
In February of 2009, Hardt finished up his next project “Strange Moonlight.” With this album Hardt went a different route. He, along with Barlow, ventured out to seven cities around the Midwest: Chicago, South Bend, IN, Ann Arbor, MI, Cincinnati, Indianapolis, St. Louis, and Kansas City and gave the album out for free. Over 1000 CDs were handed out to people at college campuses, CD shops, outdoor malls, and other locations as part of the “Free Hip Hop” campaign.
While constantly performing in and around Lincoln, NE in 2009, Hardt was also featured on several national / international mixtapes in the Biggie Jiggie Mixtape series. He also came out with his first music video, for the song, “I Want to Write a Song” in July of 2009.
Next up for Nick Hardt is “Cimematic” the new studio album and another tour in the winter '09.
