Although I have been involved in music, one way or another since I started piano lessons at 8, it was only about 6 years ago or so that I started writing songs, thanks to a brilliant musician/composer who I happened to know and from whom I took lessons for one year.
After giving up the piano at 12 in favour of the clarinet I felt drawn back to the piano some 20 years later. This time however instead of playing other peoples music I would sit at the piano and create my own melodies. Some years later having chanced upon my new found teacher, I was taught the art of songwriting.
As I was quite a bit older than most who start in this business, I thought I would simply write songs, however encouraged by people in the industry, some saying, well who else would sing your songs, or perhaps more flatteringly, well your voice suits your songs, I decided to take singing lessons and sing them myself. I have over a period of 3 or so years had my fair share of teachers in an attempt to develop what has been for me not the easiest of skills to master. Furthermore as my piano playing was quite mediocre, I searched for a piano accompanist but with little success and therefore as with the singing decided to further my piano skills.
I am now performing my songs when the opportunity arises and am shortly to release my debut mini album “Will & Destiny”.
As well as songwriting, I record and produce instrumentals which are generally piano and orchestral based. These are probably more classical in style. You can hear some clips on my website. www.nickiehart.co.uk.
If you like what you hear do add me as a friend. Comments always welcome.
Thank you for listening.
Hi Nicky,
I think the problem in your case is you have hit the bulk review stage. It is the stage all other artists are at ( scouting works on a priority basis).
If you want another batch of reviews it would be best to reupload them (delete them first) then they will start from scratch again.
Hope this helps

Many thanks for the add. Hope you enjoy the music and message behind it. My mission in life is to fight Human trafficking...understanding the individual pain of others is sometimes to painful for an other individual to touch and that is frightening ... what i mean is that someone whose life is not traumatized and brutalized as a regular sequence of every day events unconsciously seeks the camouflage and shelter of apathy and banality from the reality of such devastating anguish and terror ...but the spirit of young people who are used as sex slaves in the systematized global industry of human trafficking is now reaching out to the human fellowship in hope and desperation and through technology ...
it is scary when humanity turns a blind eye to this horror ...its like ignoring genocide whilst it is happening ...
what i am asking is that if you hear the cry of these young people who are existing in an environment of torture and brutality each and every day that you then please do not turn away from them ...
please reach deeply into your heart and soul and join a movement that challenges modern slavery in the 21st century ...

I had a mother who read to me Sagas of pirates who scoured the sea, Cutlasses clenched in their yellow teeth, "Blackbirds" stowed in the hold beneath I had a Mother who read me lays Of ancient and gallant and golden days; Stories of Marmion and Ivanhoe, Which every boy has a right to know I had a Mother who read me tales Of Gelert the hound of the hills of Wales, True to his trust till his tragic death, Faithfulness blent with his final breath. I had a Mother who read me the things That wholesome life to the boy heart brings — Stories that stir with an upward touch, Oh, that each mother of boys were such!
