many other options to find satisfaction, but I am eternally grateful that I have found them in Christ. I coach high school football at Mira Mesa and do Young Life as well. I have attended the Rock Church since its birth in 2000. I love my friends, THE CREW. I really enjoy talking about GOd and hearing others peoples view about life and how they view God. I like to talk on the phone a lot and listening to music is one of my favorite things to do. I live with 5 incredible guys who are like my best friends. I grew up with 2 older brothers so living with these guys reminds me a lot of childhood. I love my family and my beautiful new sister in law.. My brothers are like my best friends and we care about each others well being more than anything. My friends and family are very important to me and I love high school kids. The things that motivate me the most are ministry and being there for others. The things that keep me occupied besides ministry are sports, especially football. THE MOST POWERFUL FORCES WITHIN EACH OF US IS OUR SPIRITUALITY AND SEXUALITY!
They are connected and affect our lives in huge ways, ultimately defining who we believe we are…and remember perception is 99% reality.
Our spirituality should control our sexuality, BUT…because we don’t talk about our sexuality in church…it corrupts, distorts and often destroys our spiritual relationship with God. (Example: We sin sexually and hide or run from God, some for life!…Or we want nothing to do with God because we know He would tell us to stop what we REALLY enjoy.) The power of physical sex and the power of our hormones, often called “lust of the flesh” in the Bible, wrecks havoc with our relationship with God, especially if we don’t understand the interactions of sexuality and spirituality!
So we are going to talk about it at SDBC tomorrow night from 7-9pm with a special open Q and A from 9-10pm.
Right behind Love, money and faith, we find sex everywhere in the Bible so why don’t we talk about it in church? I’ll be giving my opinion tomorrow night.
SADLY, I’M CONVINCED THE #1 REASON PEOPLE WALK AWAY FROM GOD OR CHURCH FELLOWSHIP is some form of sexual sin.
