NEW WAVE THEATRE SPOTLIGHT: Here's a clip from New Wave Theatre: THE HOST PETER IVERS STUDIED CLASSICAL LANGUAGES AT HARVARD. AFTER HIS MURDER IN 1983, THEY ESTABLISHED THE "PETER IVERS VISITING ARTIST PROGRAM" IN HIS HONOR. ... ......Below is another clip from New Wave Theatre. Note the contradiction between host Peter Iver's metaphysical take on art versus the band Fear's cynical song (the lead singer turned out to be a right wing idiot, but take note of Spit Stix's first class drumming). This contradiction was in part what fascinated me about New Wave Theatre, since the punk ethos had defined itself so strongly as anti-hippie, yet hippie spirituality seemed to permeate the show's between-song banter and skits. I have always wondered if this had something to do with the death of the host Peter Ivers, who was murdered in his apartment, i.e. did some hateful punk do it (robbery was the suspected motive)...........CHECK OUT THIS VIDEO BELOW TO SEE A SURREAL TRIBUTE TO NEW WAVE THEATRE PRODUCER DAVID JOVE WHO DIED OF CANCER IN 2004 ...
.... OTHER TV: Democracy Now!, C-Span, History Channel, And
y Milonakis Show, New Wave Theatre (show about Los Angeles punk/new wave club scene in the 1980s), The Simpsons, South Park, Queer Eye for the Straight Guy, Kathy Griffin: My Life on the D-List....

RUFUS WAINWRIGHT, MY LATEST MUSICAL OBSESSION, SINGS HIS FABULOUS NEW SONG "GOING TO A TOWN" FOLLOWED BY A BRIEF INTERVIEW .......RAM DASS GOES TO A PORN FILM!!!!....ALLEN GINSBERG AND PAUL McCARTNEY PERFORM "DANCE OF THE SKELETONS"******************** My name is Nick. My main intersts are spirituality, music, and liberal/ progressive politics. Hippie spirituality is ideal for me cuz it's spiritual, eclectic, a do-it-yourself religion, nonviolent and vegetarian, politically liberal, and rooted in a love of the arts. I generally like the liberal, egalitarian, universalist strand in every religion. I've been a vegetarian for 30 years (and it ain't always easy) and am interested in holistic health. I like Ram Dass, the 60s counterculture and anyone who is following their lead of trying to make the world a better place by struggling for the welfare of all living beings (the modern manifestation of which is feminism, gay rights, animal welfare, ecology, peace and justice movements). I like the Jain and Hindu concept of ahimsa (nonviolence), the Buddhist concept of metta (loving-kindness), the Christian concept of agape (divine love), the Jewish prophetic tradition of justice making, and all good ideas work together! My dislikes are traditionalism, conservatism, complacency, cruelty, injustice, and I believe in struggling against them personally and politically-- this is the truest spirituality and expression of love. I'm interested in the psychology of mysticism, consciousness, peak experiences, love, empathy, compassion, and ultruism. I like spacey stuff: the universe, parallel universes, UFOs, and NDEs (near death experiences).
... I edited my profile with THE GODHEAD ...
Who I'd like to meet: Music obsessives and collectors, the gayest people on the planet, anyone who wants Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice and Gonzales on trial for war crimes and torture....

Hi, thanks for the add - hope you and your myspaced out friends like what we're doing - psych-meets-prog-meets-2008!
Our first single - 7" of lovely swirly and very collectable vinyl (only 300 pressed up) featuring new versions of Van der Graaf Generator's 'Theme One' + Small Faces' 'Ogden's Nut Gone Flake', by Schizo Fun Addict - is out now. No.7 in Piccadilly Records' psych best sellers chart, playing now at www. myspace. com/fdmer2, along with some pretty good videos, live reviews, barely alive jokes, etc - all well-worth a look, we think!
Yeah, sometimes it takes upward to a month for American cheques to clear in Ireland! Glad you enjoyed the show. Bua should have a new album out by mid-July. It's going to be really good!
The next film is on the 13th May at 7pm and it is about the ALF. It is a powerful film called "Behind the Mask". I love this one a great deal. All the Best, Dennis.
Thanks for adding me. ¶ Our many problems have a common root: Bullies, liars, thieves, and murderers — including those in public office — believe people are motivated only by greed and fear. They want us to share that belief, because they use it to justify themselves and to manipulate us. But you and I have found something better inside ourselves and our friends. It's in everyone, if we can just wake them — we're all one flesh and blood. Spread the word. The outcome to the ideological struggle is not yet determined, so no one can afford to be a spectator. ¶ The Iraq war, like most wars, was based on lies. And now the occupation is making new enemies faster than it can kill them; that's helpful only to arms dealers. The economy is all wrong too: the rich get richer and fewer, everyone else gets screwed, and the ecosystem gets trashed. These problems are not new, but lately they've become so blatant that we've begun to understand them. It's time to end the military-industrial complex and the corporatocracy. We the people must control government, and government must control business, not the other way around. A good start would be transparency in government, public financing of election campaigns, trustbusting the media, and ending corporate personhood. ¶ Question authority. Carry on the struggle. Hold onto hope. Keep singing. Hand in hand, we can heal the world. — Love, Eric
Hey -- glad you liked the show. We might be having problems with our trasnmitter because of the construction at the old U-Square site... hard to tell.
To find "Fans of Heavy Petting...Zoo" be sure to click on the "Groups" tab first, and then search for it. If you try searching in the regular search field, I'm not sure it shows up.

I had to come by and say hi and see what you've been up to. Great page, great song. I just added the artist. I've seen some great concerts this year and after a short break, I go folking again. Your calendar looks quite full too. Live music is a wonderful thing, isn't it?
