Nick + The Bones sound dusty and well-travelled. It's kinda bohemian rock - songs with melody and strange familiar stories, with the most spooky-beautiful live guitar sound in town & boomy garage beats. Its only rock n roll, but you like it...
Singer-guitarist Nick Larkins is a true rock gypsy. He was born in London's east end but grew up in Tasmania, fronting the island's first punk bands before leaving for melbourne. Nick played in heaps of Melbourne bands, including CHECKERBOARD LOUNGE and thrash legends VELVET HAMMER, then joined Tassie band WILD PUMPKINS AT MIDNIGHT who lived in Holland for most of the 90s, releasing albums in a dozen countries and touring Europe constantly. WPAM were compulsive nomads playing festivals, clubs, castles & dungeons, touring extensively in Eastern Europe and even in Former Yugoslavia during the war. Ultimately they collected more adventures & strange stories than cash. Nick has also lived in Czech Republic and most recently in BEAUTIFUL BARCELONA.
Nick has worked with oz & usa independent acts, Aboriginal, Tibetan & Native American artists, Eastern European Roma & Czech pop-stars, appeared in the documentary feature films 'DELIGHTFUL RAIN, a celebration of Australian Surf Music' & STICKY CARPET, and a couple of crap Australian TV shows. His songs have aired on music TV and on independent radio in Europe and Australia. The Bone -shaking drummer is smiling karate adept Amy Valent. Throbbing bone-bass is Belinda Woods, a melbourne improv underground enigma.
Nick often guests with his good friends The Grenadines, and can hardly believe he is also lucky enough to play in DAN RUMOUR & THE DRIFT (called Dan Rumour Band until oct '07) with Dan Rumour the guitarist from Australian legends THE CRUEL SEA, and also his old WPAM buddy Michael Turner.

It's the tiny trees thing. I like to pretend I'm a giant lumberjack sometimes for fun. Got a whole wardrobe full of tight fitting plaid shirts and jeans. How's it going?
