Living and working in Canada for ten years, German-born guitarist Nick Naffin has become a “musician’s musician” for a few players in the folk and acoustic music scenes.
"Nick Naffin really is 'the thinking man's guitar player'." (Rick Fielding, CIUT-FM, Toronto, Ontario, Canada)
His music, released on three CDs, has garnered international critical acclaim as well as radio airplay in fourteen countries. Before emerging as a solo artist, Nick spent five years as lead guitarist for Canadian singer/songwriter, Tim Harrison, stepped out as leader of his own group, and performed and recorded in an all-acoustic duo with cellist, Alyssa Wright. His performance credits include venues like Toronto’s Music Gallery, Second City Theatre and Harbourfront Centre, several appearances on Global Television and City TV, the North by Northeast (NxNE) and the North American Folk Alliance Conventions, and festivals ranging from the Eaglewood, Home County, and Stan Rogers Folk Festivals to the Guelph, and Toronto Downtown Jazz Festival.
Currently, Nick lives in Germany near the Bavarian Alps, serving as founding artistic director of the Southern Lights Folk Festival. His solo album 'Ghost Of A Dancer' (Northern Breeze, NB 0061), released 2008, shows "a grand guitarist... folk jazz of enormous depth" (Folker! magazine, Germany).
