Litzine Beat the Dust is constantly on the look-out for inventive, hard-hitting, thought-provoking poetry and stories, and is particularly interested in writing that involves some kind of contradiction or breaks a rule in some way. We want to hear from writers with 'kiss my shades!' attitude who like to take risks with their work. If that's you, click here for details on how and where to send your work. Thanks for sharing your space with Beat the Dust.

The beard is here to stay. I'm thinking of going mountain man this winter, which would entail no shaving and no haircutting. :)

we know
that none of
this
is important.

poetry
literature
paintings or
giving the neighbor
his mail that was dropped
accidentally in your
box.

none of it matters.

all our energy
wasted.

what matters is
Lindsay freed after
eighty-four min. in the
clink
or
talking to the guys
about what setting
they set their lawn
mower blade @
or
handlebar mustachios.

now that's the
relevant stuff
that's going to liberate
us
and
set us free from lives of
tedium
debt
global warming
or
the bossman
sniffing you out
after lunch.

free us
Britney.
oops--
do something again
and unfetter us and
make us immortal
before we turn
on you.

I have interviewed many wonderful writers (yourself included), but I have never been so nervous about sending an e-mail. She really is great person and an unbelievable writer. I felt I could not consider the site a Chicago blog without interviewing Elizabeth Crane. Now if I could just track down Joe Meno’s address I would be golden!
