Nick's Interests
|
| General |
Punk Rock music, horror films and particularly ultra violent zombie movies, going out and having a good time with my wife Dana and hanging out with friends. I like to read books, usually non-fiction but some novels but not Sci-Fi, which I hate. I love beer, chocolate, thickly-buttered burned toast, whisky and coke, chocolate shakes, margaritas, and gumbo (but not all at the same time...). I also enjoy annoying Republicans. | | Music | Rob Zombie, The Undertones, The Clash, The Sex Pistols, The Ramones, Franz Ferdinand, Oasis, Feeder, The Kooks, 3 Colours Red, The Anti-Nowhere League, The Bloodhound Gang, The Cramps, Garbage, Manic Street Preachers, Motorhead, The Neurotic Outsiders, The Prodigy, The Richies, Social Distortion, Terrorvision and lots more noisy stuff. I also like songs that criticize Republicans. | | Movies | Ask A Policeman, Night of the Demon, V For Vendetta, Dawn of the Dead (the remake), Carnival of Souls (the original), The Ninth Gate, The Parallax View, Some Like It Hot, An American Werewolf in London, The Filth and the Fury, Dead of Night (the 1940s film) The Hound of the Baskervilles (the Rathbone and Bruce version), 28 Days Later, Dark City, Repo Man, Reanimator, The Great Rock 'n' Roll Swindle, End of the Century, Sicko, Borat, 28 Weeks Later, and any films that are critical of the Republicans. | | Television | The Shield, 24, Prison Break, The L Word (for obvious reasons!), The Midsomer Murders, Lovejoy, Little Britain, Sherlock Holmes, Jonathan Creek, Dad's Army, Fawlty Towers, and re-runs of The X-Files. Plus any programs that criticize the Republicans. | | Books | Anything and everything by Jack Kerouac, The Rum Diary by Hunter S. Thompson, the works of John Keel, books on cryptozoology, unsolved mysteries, and Robert Ludlum's novels. And of course my own books, details of which can be found right here at myspace. I also like books that are critical of the Republicans.

| | Heroes | The Ramones, The Sex Pistols, Jack Kerouac, and the late British actor Moore Marriott. Plus: people who are critical of the Republicans.

Originally from England, I live with my wife Dana in Dallas, Texas and I work as an author, journalist and researcher on all aspects of the paranormal, as well as conspiracy theories and historical mysteries. I have chased vampires in Puerto Rico, lake monsters at Loch Ness, Bigfoot, ghosts, and dead aliens at Roswell. I have a blog on UFO's that I update daily which can be found at www.ufomystic.com.
I have appeared on many TV shows for Discovery Channel, The Sci-Fi Channel and History Channel. Shows I've appeared on include Sci-Fi's Proof Positive, Showtime's Bullshit with Penn and Teller, History's UFO Hunters and MSNBC's Countdown.
I write regulary for various magazines on the paranormal including Fortean Times, Fate and UFO Magazine. I also write regularly for the London Daily Express newspaper.
I am NOT a fan of the Republicans.

Who I'd like to meet:
Sex Pistols guitarist Steve Jones, who I consider to be the most influential guitarist of all time.
Johnny Depp, who is my favorite actor.
I would have liked to have met the late Ramones guitarist Johnny Ramone, who died in 2004, my all time favorite musician and hero.
I would also have liked to have met Jack Kerouac, my favorite author; and Moore Marriott, the most hysterically funny British comedian of all time who died back in 1949.
I would also have loved to have seen The Freshies (one of the greatest UK bands of the new-wave era who never quite made it to the big time) play live circa 1981, when their song "I'm in love with....etc, etc" came out. But I didn't. Oh, well.
I'd definitely NOT like to meet any of the Bush family. Nor the Cheney's, nor the rest of the Republicans.
