Nick Trepka

Independent producer/engineer and songwriter living and loving it in London.

I cut my teeth at the legendary Fortress Studios main Neve studio (RIP) and now working with artists and bands at a number of facilities, including my own very capable mixing, overdubbing and songwriting studio. These days I do a lot of work at the Cowshed studio in North London. I've worked with a huge variety of artists and bands: rock, hip hop, acoustic, funk, jazz - all things contemporary really - and from the inspired unknowns to some of the biggest names in the world.

My philosophy is that the music should be just as important and exciting to the recordist as it is to the artist, and essentially I see the studio as the instrument that I play in your band. (Although as a multi-instrumentalist and singer, I'm also very happy to get my hands dirty when it's required.) To me, producing music is all about understanding a vision, identifying gaps - whether musical or personal - and knowing how to fill them, and making a team work as well as it possibly can.

I'm also a composer, arranger and performer, and have been involved in so many musical circles and situations that I probably know where you're coming from when you're doing your thing. And above all else, I love it when you do your thing.
