Synesthesia, the debut album of multi-instrumentalist Nick Vayenas on World Culture Music, gleams with variety, intellect, and originality, and takes the listener on a thoughtful, sensory musical journey. Using the concept of synesthesia as inspiration throughout the compositional process, each original tune speaks to the listener in both an aural and visual way, successfully pairing the sensations of sight and sound. “The music was written from a visual perspective,” says Vayenas. “I wanted to compose music like a painter paints. I thought of the song’s melody as the subject matter, the harmony as the color, and the rhythm as the canvas.”

Nick Vayenas is a consummate talent: open-minded, professional, technically facile, melodic, and harmonically advanced. Since 2003, Nick has been touring with the multi-platinum selling Warner Brothers recording artist, vocalist Michael Buble. Buble's band has traveled extensively throughout the world, performing in such venues as the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Town Hall and Radio City in New York, Massey Hall in Toronto, and Royal Albert Hall in London.
Although touring with Michael has kept him busy, Nick continues to pursue and maintain his own musical identity. 2008 welcomed the release of Nick's first solo album, Synesthesia. “I wanted my album to have an overall cohesiveness and sound that tied it together. All the music on the record is connected in some way.”
