A songwriter with a sound all his own, Ward is currently finding it easy going writing the ‘difficult second album’.
New single ‘Follow The Sun’ is already recorded and he is eagerly looking forward to recording the rest of the material.

Nick Ward is a relatively late starter when it comes to producing and releasing his own material. After a break of almost ten years, Ward returned to his homeland from London, and started writing again. Taking inspiration from both city and country life, and musical influences from almost everywhere, Wards’ beautifully crafted songs are filled not only with melody and passion, but also with an edge to set them apart from the plethora of sound-alikes currently awash in our stratosphere.

September 2007 saw the release of debut album ‘Outside Looking In’. The album was recorded at Front Room Productions studio in Neath, with partner in crime Rob Griffiths on drums and Mearc overseeing production.
Ward has since gained regular radio play, both local and national, including interviews and a live session on BBC Radio Wales at the start of 2008.

My band "The Landing" is playing our first ever gig in Wales! It's at The Studio Bar in Merthyr Tydfil on Saturday July 5th. We're playing in the final of a Battle of the Bands competiton to win a support slot with Status Quo at Cyfartha Park later this month!
Much more predictable is the quality and creative genius of the musicians of Wales. Which is why I'm lucky enough to present a 3hr show fabricated from the finest new music that Wales has to offer. Well, the finest new music that Wales has to offer that gets sent to me.

*Tonight* we will be hearing from Rebecca Hot Puppy... she's going to remind us about their splendid new single, 'Somewhere', and tell us exactly what is happening to the Hot Puppies whilst she takes a sabbatical to have a baby. Soundhog might look pregnant, but the only babies he's concerned with are the ones that belong to his incredibly extensive and well-arranged record collection. Huw Williams is in again to tell us about Welsh music past. *AND* The Kaptin will be coming aboard to tell us about Roxe Jam, a free weekend of hip hop culture in Cardiff on the weekend July 26 - July 27th.
